shot and disc weight (US HS) in 1960s?

Hi,

Do any oldtimers know whether the shot and the discus were the same weight in the early 1960s as today --- 12 lbs and 1.6 kg? I am quite sure so, but want to confirm from others.

I know for sure it was in the midwest in the late 60's.

This was in northern Ohio in the eraly 1960s, so I will take your post as confirming 12 lbs and 1.6 kg.
