Why does washignton always have good hammer throwers when it isnt even a state event?

First of all, hammer doesn't need to be a state event in order for meets to offer it. The NFHS rules allow it, just like they allow the DMR and steeplechase. In fact, all those events are listed under the same "other events" rule.That's why you see hammer at invites and not at the state meets.
Washington has good hammer throwers because it has a lot of adults who are committed to making it happen.
