From the front page
NY - Somers Invitational - Former Saratoga NY runners Nicole Blood and Caitlin Lane, who are training on their own this spring, ran 9:46.0 and 9:49.0 in an open women's 3000 meters, US#1 and US#5 for high school runners this season.

Was the mile a 1600 or mile, because I remember it has always been mile in the past, but in the newspaper it said 1600.

they are no longer injuried, just training by themselves

Why did they leave the High school team in the first place? and why would they not go back. I thought it was just becasue they were hurt. Why would they not go back? it is so confusing to me.

There must be a reason. It IS so confusing however.

yea, the article published a month ago implied that there were tensions between her and her coach, but obviously for the sake of nicole's privacy, her family is not going to relase many of the logistics behind her choice.

I think the injuries also played a part in both Caitlin's and Nicole's leaving.

Dyestat front page screamed out these girls' times when they ran for Saratoga. Now they get a ho-hum mention in the state-by-state listing with no links. Because they're "training on their own"? 9:45 and 9:49 3ks in HS are worthy of some attention and celebration - at least on a HS site!

From the letsrun boards: "Today Saratoga finished 2nd in the NY large school sectionals. It really does seem that Ferguson and Davidson are thriving and Trauscht (10:39 3K on a double) and Vahanian (10:44 3K) are getting back into the groove of things. The 3200R ran 9:14 to win. They would have won the meet if Blood and Lane ran (even just one event each)."
