Disregarding that whole "you have to find what is right for you" crap, what do YOU consider the right amout of mileage for Track? You can break it into phases if you want, for example:
BASE: 60-70 mpw
PRE-COMPETITION: 55 mpw
COMPETITION PHASE: 44-48 mpw
TAPER/PEAK: 35-40 mpw
what do you think leaves you the freshest for races, I've just been feeling too worn out after weeks of 68 for base and an average of 55 since february...I did 40-45 last year and ran better.

I pretty much agree with what you wrote up. I tend to be around 65-70 in Summer and Winter, then slowly taper down towards the end of the season as quality increases. I find that my times improve a lot throughout the season as I cut back on the long run and put that intensity and energy into the actual workouts.

Uh, what event(s)? What period in season? What are the goals?
Etc, etc, etc...

Disregarding that whole "you have to find what is right for you" crap,
You might was well say, "Disregarding the truth" or "Disregarding the facts" because the correct answer to your question is: "The maximum sutainable amount of mileage you can handle without compromising the various elements of your training or breaking down."
Just have to find out for yourself. Any number that anyone would suggest would be arbitrary.

sorry, I guess I phrased this wrong: I meant to ask, what works for YOU?
