Knee Injury Question

Hey I was out on a run earlier today and felt a little pain slightly above or around my kneecap, not in the back of my knee though but right above in the front. I was wondering if any one might have known what this was, I have felt it once before but that was quite a while ago during the beginning of Spring Track. Any help would be great...

I had a similar kind of pain, and I just iced it alot and it got better.

About 1.5 to 2 months ago I felt the same thing and just ran through it with icing. I think that was a pretty stupid idea because 2 weeks after that I injured my hip. I don't know if they were related.

Now that I've been stretching and warming up before daily runs everything feels great.

So is it most likely an injury from strain or lack of stretching after a run, which i have done from time to time?
