I got 39'4" on my TJ freshman year. Any chance I'll be hitting 45 by the time I'm in senior year if I try hard? A problem I'm having is that my jumps aren't equal. Is the 2nd jump supposed to be a jump like the others, or merely an intermediary for the third (that's what I'm doing).
And how much will extending your feet properly add to the jump? I'm only doing it partly correctly.
Thanks a lot.

You will definitley be able to get up to 45 if you train hard and work on your form. If you watch the pros, all their phases are almost exactly equal distance. Obviously, we arent pros, but try to get all phases close to eachother. To work on this, work on driving the knee after the initial take off and then making a solid jump in teh middle phase and bound into the last phase. It's tough to explain online, but in another thread there was a great description.
My freshman year i did distance (worst on the team  ), and then sophomore year, in my first TJ season i went 43 feet. I am currently jumping mid 44s and should be above 45 in some upcoming state meets. You can defintely be above 45 by your senior year with plyos, weight training, and getting good technique.

i jumped 42 my freshman year, and hit 49 (well 48'11.5") my senior year only really working during my senior year. U put some serious work in now, wouldnt supprise me if u hit 45 next year. But u have to want it. When I say i put in some work, i put in some real work, none of the high school crap, went out found me a trainer ( a 54 foot tj when he was in college) and did some good work every day in the fall, then in winter played b-ball, then come spring, i translated what i learned in the fall and used it in my coaches work outs (cause he didnt know crap)

when I was a freshman I jumped 39'11.5 now I jump 47+ I'm a senior
(hope you have a good coach)
2nd phase is the most important phase because it is the hardest
it breaks down about 35% 30% 35% per phase
so drive the knee up and hold

my second phase is like 8 ft, if i ever got that up to like 12 or so, i would be in the 45's but i started my senior yearr(this year)o it was to late for me to actually practice it enough.(our track is gravel and deadly)

Yup, we have a gravel track too... well, acutally more like a mud pit now, since its been raining about 20 days of the past 25.... We pretty much can't practice our jumping, so its incredibly difficult to improve..
