whats your 40 time?

In my football off season we timed 40s today so I was woundering what ppls 40s are. I ran a 5.06 PR lol

Last fall (05) I used to come to football practice in the morning and I was clocked at 4.32 yeah I know probably B.S., but I clocked in two weeks later at 4.53 twice after a day were I ran 10 miles. (1:58.1 800 PR)

At a high school combine type thing here in Indiana attended by most of if not all of the elite football players in the state, the fastest 40 was a 4.49. All of these were done by laser, so that gives you an idea of what a TRUE 40 would look like. Hand-timed 40s are somewhere between .3-.4 seconds wrong (fast) usually.

40 times are so arbitrary. Hand times are usually(well, always) blown way out of proportion.

I'm a jumper, with some speed, but nothing overwhelming, and I run a pretty legit 4.7-8ish 40y... I LOVE heraing people say they run faster than that, especially football players, and I call B.S., and proceed to kick their ass when we race head on... There is almost no reason to even quote what your hand timed 40y time is... the tenths are so important, if you say 4.4, give or take .4 seconds.. you might as well just not talk times at all..

So on a laser time it would be probably closer to a 4.55 or so? Because there is NO way it is that fast on laser. The NFL COMBINE record is right around there, maybe a 4.24 or so.
