This year is the second year for the series. The meets are open for Youth through Open and masters competitors. Last year we put a stake in the ground by having great music, prizes, food, and competition. We had nearly 600 competitors at one of the meets (coming from NY, NJ, Delaware, Pa, Conneticut, Maryland, and Washington DC)!

The dates of the meets are as follows:

Sunday May 1st
Sunday May 15th
Saturday May 28th
Saturday Jun18th

You can pick up an entryform at the following website www.eteamz.com/gardenstatetrack

This year we are expecting to do even better. Last year's race horse vs human is being updated. Also, both the Running Company and the Sneaker factory will be on site with tremendously discounted shoes and apparel. I bought a pair of Mizuno trainers for $20 last year! Hopefully Ryan and Cathy will be out wearing their Red "Runners Pace" Singlets (ie, competing!).

Our 1500M record in the open division is 4:05 (set by a running company runner.)

The June 18th meet will be a special NJ Alumni Meet. Any group of Alumni from NJ can enter a team for just $20. There will be a team trophy for the winning alumni team. RC is busy putting their team together now. The big question is...."Will Frank Gagliano and Jack O'leary be out to serve as honorary coaches?"

Come on out and join us.

Grote was interested in a 5K being part of our last meet. As a result, I am going to add it to the list of events for June 18th.

MaestroXC - Thanks for the catch...I finally got my new username and rushed to get this post in place again.

No problem. Hopefully I'll be in shape to run some of the later meets, although the prospect of getting my ass handed to me by Grote isn't exactly an auspicious one. The fact I race in Nikes certainly won't help the matter. ;)

Whoa there...just an idea on my part...not necessarily for me...I don't know that I could hand myself my own arse, much less anybody else...plus I don't know if my boss would let me come into work late!

The alumni challenge at the June 18th meet is proving ionteresting to some. I've had numerous inquiries. The latest being from Old Bridge Morris Hills people. If you are interested send an e-mail to Al Siuta @ AJSIUTA@comcast.net
