Welcome to a new forum we like to call the Running Camp Forum.
Here you can talk about your experiences with and thoughts on running camps.
What camp did you or do you go to?
Why do you go? Did it help your running? How? What were the workouts like?
Was it like you expected?
Will you go back?
How big was it? one coach? A whole slew of trainers?
Ask questions too. Post it all here.
As this forum grows, the cool thing is it can be a reference guide for people who want to know more.
You might learn about a camp you want to attend - or not attend.
Write the name of the camp in the subject line. Constructive criticism is welcomed, but try to keep it positive. I know you all know the difference - if you are unsure if your post is constructive, I will tell you, most likely by banning you for posting it :D
Enjoy the camp forum!

this summer i went to winged foot XC and jumps camp. It was great. We ran twice a day or one time a day we could do a water workout. It's only for a week though.

I went to Stroudsburg XC Camp in Pennsylvania. It was about 5/6 days, I think it totally improved my running. We woke up around 630/7 everyday and did a warm up run of a min. of 2 laps, which equates to about one mile a lap. Then we had breakfast, and around 9 we had a 4 mile, 6 mile or 8 mile run--depending on what you choose. The 4 mile runs were usually closer to 5 than 4 though. The runs were really nice though, some of the courses were really pretty. Then we got back, chilled out in the pool--lunch, optional pool workout...then later team sports..such as volleyball & like handball, then another optional run..then just chill out with everyone at night until lights out..and there was a dance the last night =P i think i did a good job advertising it =]

i went to the running school in up state New York. It was amazing, the program would be wake up, stretch(to a drummer and some old guy?), and then do a long run about 5-10 miles. When you came back you would eat breafast and then go to optional semenars, such as form, strength, endorance, etc. then Lunch. and run number two which was a little bit shorter.
overall the camp was freakin awsome, point proven.

I went to Lokanda. It wasn't bad. we would do two-a-days. wake up at 7:00 and run 5 and late afternoon run 7. The courses were hilly too and it really helped a lot. They also had a good weightroom with all sorts of bikes and stuff
