I'm a 400/800 guy and usually my running workouts consist of 1-3 mile runs and a lot of 4X50, 4X100, 4X200, etc.

Well, I'm about to begin some sprint workouts and was wondering if it's a good idea to do all out sprints as long as possible. Like once a day sprint 100% until your body literally cannot go full force anymore. Then everyday you try to go farther and farther, thus, increasing your stamina. Obviously, it sounds like you might be threatening a major injury doing that. What are your thoughts?

It's not a bed idea too keep pushing it everyday, but if you go full out 100% race pace at ever workout, for several repeats, then you might end up hurting yourself.

Try doing one day like 2x400 100% race-pace. Then the next day, do like 4x400 at a clsoe to race pace or a little slower.

Camel back are also incredibly effective.

Ya know.. i've always wondered about doing this. Its so different from how most people, esp dyestat people train, that I expected you to get slammed for even suggesting it, but really, it does seem to make sense.. If you did it 4 or 5 times a week, would your full speed sprint distance really start to get farther? That would be a great experiment to conduct, because I've thought about doing it, but since I've never heard it ever being done, I kinda just forgot about it

Hm. Interesting idea, I've never really thought of doing something like that. Usually we just do something like 3x400 all out with full recovery.

I like the idea.
