Does anybody know what the Hogs do specifically to train? Mileage, how many track workouts, what track workouts, when they start trackworkouts, etc... Anything about them? My coach says he is doing his training off the Razorbacks, but I don't think the Hogs train like that. Any info?
Someone posted a general Arkansas cross-country training outline on letsrun awhile back. Have to think not too, too much variation for distance guys in early track season. Could be wrong.
AM runs at least thrice a week; shortest run being 4mi.
One long workout a week; something like 6xmile on cross/golf course
Ladder workout, maybe starting at mile and working down to 400 and back up and all in-between
Long run of at least 12mi (12-16). at good clip; not just a 'jog' (for them; avg. at least 6min pace)
Mileage was around 80. No serious workouts until October (of cross season), so slow build-up to peak, although it has been said that Ark. doesn't peak for cross.
