Is that a PR in the 100 for Wallace Spearmon?

EDIT: That's gotta move him up a little bit on the all-time 100/200/400 rankings now.
EDIT2: And do you have the wind readings on the LJ? I just tried to call Fabrice, but I couldn't get through to him. If that's wind-legal, that's his best ever wind legal jump.

Anyone know splits for the 1500? Choge and Bekele were real tight, but almost had 2 full seconds on Lagat and 1.5 on third place. What was the last 300/400 in?
Krum in 3:40.82? Chebii in 3:42.19? Off days or did anyone fall?

Xiang nips Johnson this week. I really hope AJ has got a few more years in him, would love to see him go against Liu in the WC and OG finals. Each year he continues to show why he's one of the best 110HH of all-time.

1, Tirunesh Dibaba, Kenya, 14 minutes, 55.63 seconds.
2, Gelete Burika, Ethiopia, 14:55.64

How many races has Tirunesh Dibaba won by .01 this year? She's from Ethiopia, anyone know why she's listed as Kenyan? Simple mistake?

...Bekele goes down 2 straight meets, when was the last time that happened?!

Well considering he got second in a 1500, beating Lagat, and only missing his PR by .05 seconds, I wouldn't make too much of this loss. I'd call it a good performance for him.

QFE. its not even his best distance yet he gets second against people who's best event is the 1500

And considering there was a 60+ lap in there that's a pretty darn good time.

And it was Choge's best event this summer, career wise though choge's best event has been the 5k, although he holds hte wjr in the 3k, and wyb for 16 year olds in the 1500.

He ran a good 5k early in the year in march. But his 1500 success vs his 5k success during the summer puts him as better in the 1500 this summer. 4 wins and 1 third, all in times between 332.48 and 333.51 is not to shabby, whereas a 10th a 3rd and an 8th ranging in times from 1259-1310 is not as dominant. So maybe he's leaning more towards the 1500 now? Or maybe he just concentrated on it because of his goodwill games 5k early in the year?

I didn't expect Kenenisa to win the 1500m, I'm shocked that he raced! So many races in a row. My friend Mpampis talked to him in the locker room in Athens right after the World Cup 3k race. Kenenisa said he was very tired. Yet he races in Shanghai! Anyways, Kenenisa is real fast this year, people are just underestimating him and he's been racing probably too much. Also, Alex Kipchirchir Dns in the 1500m.

Womens 5k, Meseret Defar Dns for some reason. Tons of races for Tirunesh!

About Augustine Choge in 1500m. Here is what he raced this year...

Doha 3000m 7:29 2nd 1 second behind Augustine Choge, in front of Eliud Kipchoge by a second
Oslo Mile 4:02 9th He had troubles
(I think he was scheduled in the Gateshead 3000m a week later but didn't run it)
Rome 5000m 12:59 10th, he was coming back from a problem and wasn't at his best
Heusden-Zolder 1500m 3:33 1st, an easy win I believe
London 5000m 13:00 3rd, right behind Bernard and Kenenisa, this is his real 5k performance, don't worry about Rome/Brussels
Zurich 1500m 3:32 1st, time was a couple seconds slow, but he beat tons of top guys, very impressive
Brussels 5000m 13:11 8th, he had troubles, what was the problem I wonder?
Berlin 1500m 3:32 1st, time was a couple seconds slow, but he beat tons of top guys, very impressive
World Athletics Final 1500m 3:33 3rd, Close behind Alex Kipchirchir and Bernard Lagat, impressive race!
Shanghai 1500m 3:33 1st, defeated Kenenisa Bekele, impressive race!

His 1500m races in Zurich, Berlin, World Athletics Final, and Shanghai were all highly impressive. His Heusden-Zolder 1500m was good, expected. His Oslo Mile he had troubles in though. I've been waiting for Augustine Choge to run higher quality 1500m's, he did it, great job!!!

As far as his long distance fitness, he is still very fast in the long distance races. I believe that he is in low 12:50's shape at the end of the season. His Doha 3000m early in the year where he finished between Isaac Songok(12:48 this year) and Eliud Kipchoge(12:54 this year) shows that he is very fast, I think he could have run 12:52 this year if he ran in a great race in Zurich. He was regaining fitness in Rome I believe, where he ran 12:59. His London 5000m asserts his long distance fitness. He had troubles in Brussels 5000m.

His 1500m fitness is high but his 5000m fitness is still very high, he had some problems though(Dns in Gateshead, regaining fitness in Rome, troubles in Brussels). What is your thoughts on this?
