View Full Version : The 100 sucks.

I got stuck running the 100/4x100 at a huge invite later this week. I decided to post that I feel this event blows. It doesn't give any time to open up, and it's won in the first 60m (an event which, by the way, I suck balls at). If only the 400 wasn't right before the 4x1...

Tell that to Carl Lewis.

u think that bad last saturday i got stuck in the 1200m leg of the DMR(i am a sprinter)
also today in a duel meet i got stuck in 400mh(i have never done hurdles before)
well i don't like the 100m either so i guess i can "feel your pain"
200m and 400m are much better in my opinion

I respect ur opinion but if anything the first 60m sets up the rest of ur race. Look at how many people jump out to a fast start and then jus get crushed. I think itz angela williams who is amzing the first half of her and a great 60 meter runner but after that she jus drifts back. Jus look at Mo Greene and his drive phase. About opening up ur sorta right, but itz a race for speed. Haha i hate the 400.

Most people are still in the acceleration phase of their sprint between 60-70meters, and then they begin to deccelerate, though in a way i understand what you mean. Good luck.

400 is painful, but it leaves a little room for error. My favorite is 200...not too long, not too short, fast as all hell.

ick, i hate the 200 for that stupid turn. I can't seem to accelerate enough on that corner, though the first in a 400 isn't so bad. But I have have problems with the 100 too; I figure I'm just not fast enough.

lol- I wrote 'corner' before, changed it to turn.

I don't have the quick speed for the 100. It takes me a while to build up my speed. So at the gun i'm a little slow but once i get going i'm pretty quick but by then it's a lil too late

Exactly my problem. I ran 12.9 for 110m, though, so I'm not too worried about my speed anymore.
