Are any elite teams going?
Last year they had CN, Warwick, and Bayshore (?).

Some of the better PA teams will be there. Including last years state champ West Chester East. As well as a strong Central Bucks South. But probably no one of notice on the regional level.

Some good individuals will be there though on a real fast course.

I think Emmanus, PA girls will be very tough. they are young and good!

Outside of Coatesville...

... are there any?
both West Chesters are good. The problem though with PA is most of the best districts split up into multiple high schools. If you combined the West Chesters into one high school they would be able to compete with any team in the region. Same goes for the Central Bucks (they have 3 high schools), Council Rock as well.

There are 3 West Chester schools now (though no seniors at Ruston I guess)

And yes, its true that splitting hurts the programs in the sense of being the best. But I also think its better to have a school size of about 1500 instead of 3000.

The difference with Coatesville is they have 2 schools on one campus (a 9-10 building and an 11-12 building) so instead of splitting they have about twice the number of kids as downingtown, and probably close to 3 times as many as the west chester schools will have.

Regardless, 1500 or so kids is by no means a small school. There have been elite schools on the national level with far less than that

West Chester I'll buy... but not Council Rock. South has 2 really good runners, but North has nobody this season.
It is true for this year that North is weak. But traditionally Council Rock has been a distance dynasty. Just look over the past years North has had some big guys such as Capecci. West Chester if you combined would be a top 5 team in the NE I think. If you combined the 3 central bucks teams they would also be close to that.

Oh yeah and the results of the race were

Speare 15 43
Mooney 15 46
Kaulbach 15 47

There were a lot of big now shows from the sophomore class I was really expecting the showdown between Keefe and Hull. But neither raced does anyone know why?

course wasn't super fast like normal, times weren't bad. emmaus girls looked solid

Neely Spence jsut destroyed with her 17:42......walked all over Price from Easton in the last mile.

boys side, times were slower than last year by quite a bit, but again course plays into that. no team looked that dominant.

well if you look at the splits from the boys race it looked like it was a tactical race between speare, mooney and kaulbach.

That's a HUGE race! 300+ guys... gotta love it. Most invitationals in NYS have too many divisions - waters down the competition.
yeah its huge but its a great simulation for the district meet in about a month. Though if there is a course that can handle that many teams in PA it is definitely Lehigh. It's a great course, a really fast one but a legit and and respected 5k.

it has to be one of the widest courses i've ever seen, it was great! the thing about a meet with such competion and numbers, the team scores look really bad, 115 or so is a great score at a meet that big.

wait what team you run for? is there a member here who runs for Courtland?

and yes, i did run the Invite 8k, not as important as some meets i've been in before, but it was probably one of the most physical and just intense races i've ever been in! great experience.

I run for Binghamton. There are a lot of Cortland runners on Dyestat, but they keep to the NY board and the Playground for the most part. They ran sick, Shamus is a friggin' beast. He got so good so fast in college.

I'm assuming you're talking about Warwick Girls, but no, they won't be there this year.
