no, I don't know any good trails. sorry. I went with my cousins (none of them are athletic) and I didn't really have transportation anywhere.

The only time that's good to run there, is either early in the morning, or if by some chance it rains. I don't recomend running on the beach, as fun as that might sound.

umm..we haven't had that many good runners..lemme see if i can name a couple..well..our girls state champ Lauren Ho was 9th at Footlocker West Regionals..umm..Duncan Macdonald..lemme see..oh yeah..this one guy from a couple years ago, Todd Iaocvelli, runs for Michigan now..not sure what hes up to..but i think that's it, or that's all i can remember, besides Victoria Chang..who won Footlocker then didnt do anything else really big.

we have a bunch of has-beens: gerry lindgren, duncan macdonald, and victoria chang. and we consistently have a girl who just misses making foot locker nationals.

if you're staying on kaa'napali beach or however you spell it, you're kinda out of luck :( . There are a few options if you are willing to put up with the heat and the humidity. I did a lot of speedwork when i was there with a long run thrown in on some days. There was a golf course that i ran on (nobody was ever on it since it was so goddamn hot and humid outside) but you get yelled at if youre seen. Try running on the walkway next to the beach towards lahaina, and youll eventually hit a dirt path that goes on for a mile or two. once it ends you can either go into lahaina and brave the pavement or turn around and run to the other end of the beach (thats what i did). That's about a five mile run; maybe a bit longer. if you run every day, even if it isnt much, youll definitely notice a big boost in your fitness when you get home. There's something about running in the thick air that makes your body more efficient (or so it seems).
