lol its been about 15 minutes it will take time. And I don't know enough about the other states to make a real strong guess. I would say Doug Smith would be a threat for sure...

PA has a strong sophomore class as well, between Keefe, Hull, and Wood.

I don't know, but I've heard there's this guy name Tye or Tea or Taye or something. Apparently he's pretty good.

lol well I know the obvious one, but I am looking for a list you know like 40 deep like we had going on the the 2006 thread. Anyone with half a brain can say that Cabral, Taye, Jarret, McNally are favorites for next year, but I am looking to help create a much larger data base.

i think he's not eligible to run next year like his brother this year. i'm pretty sure he'll be over 19

OK, if that's the case, here are the top few CT guys returning, and their times on the state course. For out of state guys who don't know how the course runs, you can compare how good these guys are by looking at how they compare to what Cabral ran on the same course. Cabral was 15:23 at FLNE.
Donn Cabral-15:58 wickham invitational
Matt Terry-16:07, state open
Andrew Judd-16:15, state open
Willie Ahearn-16:23, state class LL
Dan Decrescenzo-16:28, state class LL
William Griffin-16:30, state open
They're all juniors. The times don't seem outstanding, but when you compare them to how Cabral ran on that course, who ran a time at FLNE that could've made him champion a lot of years, it shows that these guys are definitely quality stuff. Cabral will obviously be a title contender from CT, and these other guys are all potential top 30 or 40 or so, I would think.
Edit:
i think he's not eligible to run next year like his brother this year. i'm pretty sure he'll be over 19
I don't think so. He was a freshmen when he got top 10 at New England's my sophomore year. I'm now a senior, which means that next year will be his fourth year of high school, unlike his brother who was a junior that same year, and then repeated his junior year last year, and thus is now ineligible. I don't think the same thing will go for Sintayehu.

Danburys #1 and #2, Matt Terry and Willie Ahearn, may be in the mix to qualify for FLN next year, although if things go right, they'll be at NTN next year too.

the top 5 right now are the ones i have posted on other threads
taye
cabra
jarrett
mcnally
berube
after that is completly up in the air
aldrich should qualify with a good race
dennin looks strong if he doesnt do what weller did and peak at states and tries to go for regionals. he wont have the chance at the win with mcnally and aldrich their so maybe he will settle for third and try a national bid
beyond that in PA even it is hazy Morgan Kaulbach Izewski Jones could all threaten but i dont know what the rest of the region has to offer

Agreed all those PA guys could threaten. I don't see an elite result posted from states this year from Morgan, is that just a clerking error, because if he was not under 16 30, than he really shouldn't be mentioned in this discussion.
I think Phil Wood and Sean Keefe could surprise people, Wood's 16 06 at Belmont is real fast. and Keefe was injured but his only race this season was a real strong performance at Briarwood. Being from the SOL with him, 'cept the bigger conference (national) I think he has more upside and would have beaten Izewski and Jones if healthy. Any news on his injury, no one really knows exactly what happened?
I think that Aldrich and McNally would definitely be threats to qualify and Dennin, Kaulbach, Keefe, and Izewski all with the possibility with great races.

C'mon, PA, don't go over-hyping next year until you've fully apologized for this year. ;)
I was not the person saying PA would run under 15 and have multiple people under the course record. All I said was McNally and Aldrich should qualify and I don't think many would argue that those two aren't early favorites for next year,
And then named a few runners with outside shots at making it, nothing different than what everyone else has done. :D
More and more people are bitching about the PA state meet being so far from FLs maybe they will do something about it soon. Weller is the perfect example of peaking for states and then running like junk at FLNE. When will the piaa catch on!

Morgan runs for North Allegheny. He's in Germany I think this year for an exchange program. Last year he was 25th at States as a Soph, and should be strong next year individually as a Senior, along with leading what should be a great team. So assuming he'll be in shape and comes back to the team, he can be a threat.

ok yeah I was wondering I knew about his great run at states soph year I was just wondering where he was this year. That explains a lot.

Phil Wood of LaSalle in Philly is a soph - correct?
If so, who is the Phil Wood of NJ that took 6th in the FLNE Frosh race? I'd expect the LaSalle Phil Wood to have been faster than 17:18 (unless it was just a real off day) for the VCP 5k based on what he ran at Belmont and the VCP 2.5 mile.

The Phil wood you are talking about is from Lacey township. I think he's run low 17's at holmdel as well.

That is a different Phil Wood. Phil Wood of LaSalle in Philly did not run at FLNE since I can't find him in the results anywhere. But he is a very good runner better on the track but a strong harrier, he won the PCL title this year. And as a frosh ran 4 23 and 9 01 3k. The 3k was in the summer at AAU though. Sean Keefe however, in cross before getting injured beat him by about 20 seconds at Briarwood.

Bet against Taye next year? Not me. The guy is the clear favorite, IMO. Guys like Cabral and Jarrett in the NE will also be great.
Taye may win the whole thing THIS year. We'll know soon enough.

His post-race quote was kind of scary. He said he missed three weeks early in the season and was just getting back into the swing of things. He should be a monster next year barring injury. I mean look what his brother can do now. I think he's a definite contender this year, probably on the second tier after Forys and Tebo and maybe Hall.

One concern for taye is his training situation. Must be of some benefit to train everyday with a guy who is slightly faster.
that said - no - wouldnt bet against him in 07.
Shame he didnt run thru to get the JR class record, certainly looked within his reach on the video.

Considering that he holds the Frosh and Soph marks (and may set the Course mark next yr), I'd agree....too bad he eased up and gave away a full second. He would have been 15:17pt, and held the first 3 class marks.

Dennin beat Izewski at states and districts, I think he is a better harrier then Izewski. Just depends if he does a Weller (they go to the same school) and not run for two weeks before FLNE after states.

Yeah, he had said all season his goal was to win states, where Springer had stated FLN was the goal. So Weller peaked then and got Springer. Then from what Dennin had said on penntrack, that they at practice were just playing football and frisbee and doing almost no running.
If you look at the NY forum, I made a list of what I think the top 10 of 08 will be I think it is very accurate, I would like your thoughts. The big difference is I have Sean Keefe at third from PA who you didn't mention, other then that I put Deir in as well, cause you gotta have atleast one junior qualify.
