does anyone wear socks when they run their races with their spikes? I got these shoes that say they dont need to but idk if they would hurt my feet or not. I have the nike zoom shoes

Nike Zoom Shoes? As if there was ever a shoe created by Nike without the term "zoom"....your description is not very specific

haha i was thinking the same thing, and no i dont run in socks except for with a select few pair that just rub me in certain places and give blisters or just take off skin, but some greats wear socks

my thoughts are, track=sometimes if its cold yes, any wet conditions such as xc, steeple, or rain=no

just go try them on without socks and run a few laps around the track at a decent pace....and see how it feels

I've never really tried racing w/o socks before. What's the advantage that makes people do it? And should I do it in my kilkennys and my milers?

if u wear socks try running a race without em for some reason, i just feel alot faster and lighter, but i raced with socks all four years of hs now in college i raced once with socks and tried it without em and switched over
and i've run everything up to a 10k with out socks and no problems

I haven't worn socks with my spike for a race since freshmen year xc. I think it's better to not wear socks. Your socks could get wet and slow you down, i think it makes you feel faster, and it just feels better as well. Don't worry about getting blisters either, i've never gotten one ever from not wearing socks in my spikes/racing shoes

depends on the shoe, depends on the race. Milers, kennedys and lightsprints never see socks. My lanangs occasionally do, but that's because they are for longer races. I never wear socks for the mile on down.

I never wear socks for races. But i've had a few recent track workouts in 5 degree weather that required socks to keep a foot. I'm indoors now. Point is, it's a feeling thing, experiment and find out what you like.

no socks

Why do I run xc?

Basically everyone is saying no socks.
I live in New England, where maybe a couple meets per season are above 60 degrees, and all the important meets in November are in the 40s.
If you race without socks in these, just hope your feet go numb.

I got some blisters not wearing socks in milers but for the most part I don't wear socks in track. I do for xc.

I tried going without socks for a race this year. Several parts of my feet started to bleed. I now always where socks.
