I really really liked how big of a jump Sulkin took. But if everyone stays healthy and trains like I know they will......there will be only one kid in the state who can hang with Havel. And that's Chris Derrick. Derrick finished 18th at FLMW and comes from a really solid program that pops outs all-staters year after year. I know Coach V is going to continue to develop Derrick. He only finished 10 seconds back of Havel at the state meet, which is arguably Havel's finest performance ever. And then beat Havel at FLMW. So he is head and shoulders above the rest of the field in terms of trying to "beat Havel". however, people are overlooking Tom Achtien who did run 14:30. and will be running 1000miles over the summer. Will he make a huge jump??? Probably not. But Achtien is going to be sub 14:20 most likely, which makes him at least a threat.
