So the CO indoor track season kicked off yesterday, and it seemed like there wasn't a very big turnout on the guys side. Do any of the big names (Medina, Appel, Weeks, etc) ever compete in the meets.

Also if Charles White is going to Cherry Creek how is he competing at indoor meets back east? He is putting up killer times though.

One more thing, Bals and Cabbage Patch or poor reps for Chaparral running so don't pay attention to them.

I believe that Sophmore Henry Cowhick was in the meet on saturday.

he got 16th in Cross country state but his strength is by far in the 1600 and 800. as a freshman, he got 12th in the mile and 11th in the 800 and is the top returning 800 runner in the state. 2:00 and 4:30 are his PRs from last year

I don't think Cowhick is the top returnee Matt Curry from rampart finished either 6th or seventh last year, and there were two kids in the continental league region that ran under 2 but they didn't make state because that region was really stacked in the 800.

Also I saw that the winner in the 1500 ran around a 4:28, that is like a 4:42 mile. Hopefully times are faster this weekend, are the wheat ridge kids going to the airforce meet too?

sorry, i forgot about the rampart runner, and I was talking about the state results so I missed those other two. sorry:o

Roblet Muhudin i believe was the one to win that 1500 and cowhick was 6th, he said he didnt run well at all.

but those times will drop because most of them are doing at best 2-3 mile tempo runs while running high milage

wheat ridge will have 2-3 varsity runners at the air force meet. is anyone else going to be there this weekend?

I think Hauer and Busch from CHS may go to simplot, I dunno if it is really worth it for all the money though.

Also, when are these wheat ridge gets gonna stop talkin and actually run at a meet, or are you guys waiting for outdoor? CWhite you too, are you gonna come to any indoor colorado meets?

Mr.Mtnrunner i am not talking any trash i just simply said that the simplot games is for little girls. I have been running a few indoor meets mr mtnrunner and i planning on running more but unfortunately none of the Colorado indoor meets fall on a day that I will be able to run.

EDIT- I hope y'all realize im just pulling your legs im aware that the simplot games isnt for prepubescent little girls but very masculine testerone filled men. Some of you Coloradites have to take a big chill pill and wash it down with a glass of relax.

haha I know you are:D

EDIT- Hopefully we'll get around to running some indoor meets:/. My brother ran at the Air Force meet. He did the 2 mile, but didnt really run it hard. For some reason this season, we seem to keep having problems getting our kids to the meets. Some kids cant get a ride, some parents wont let them go (i have no clue why tho!), and then some just simply dont want to race indoor. Its kinda weird cuz when i went there, we all loved indoor! Crazy how things change

wheat ridge had a couple varsity guys go to cu today
henry cowhick ran a 2:04 indoor 800 and muhudin got the same time in a different heat and another runner who I dont know ran a 2:03 and won.

As for the mile, Muhudin got second by 2-3 seconds while running a 4:36
the other wheat ridge kid Schwaderer got his butt handed to him running a 5:02 w/ a cold :o

and the 200 made the 1500 seem like it was going really slow, it was nice. i ended up getting 3rd in that by like 0.000001 seconds because the kid i was planning on outkicking at the end, knew it was the last lap, and i didnt until halfway through. muhudin and wilson were 20-ish seconds ahead

Just came back from the CSM All Comers meet up at the Colorado School of Mines and was able to watch two of Colorado's best distance runners battle it out, Joseph Manilafasha and Charles White. Great Race for the first four laps Maniflafasha led with White right on his tail. Manilafasha then put in a burst and broke white and white started to fall back and it looked like Joseph would run away from the field and white would fade back to 4th, but with about two laps to go White FLEW and made up about 4 seconds on Manilafasha blowing away a Western and Club runner and almost catching up to Joesph. The times were about Manilafasha 901 and White about 904 ,pretty quick times for a track like the one at CSM.

Wheat xc
02-11-2007, 12:23 AM
haha thats funny, that western kid that white blew by was tyler pennel(graduated from golden last year) who had run the 1500 earlier and would have contested manilafasha if he hadnt run earlier. I watched that race and it was pretty sweet to see the two high school guys take 1 and 2 with great times!

o really? haha thats a pretty big difference. i'd definately take the 9:48 though.

well, i guess it didnt matter because i got 9:40 today at mines

I totally forgot to talk to the chaparral kids at the last meet, my bad:o

Brad
02-11-2007, 12:25 AM
I was at the mines race. Joseph did a great job. Though Charles was about 12 seconds behind with 500 meters to go. Joseph might have been hurting a bit or maybe his coaches told him to back off the throttle a bit. Charles might have been broken for a bit or maybe he realized the pace was a bit intense for the conditions at hand. The bottom line was two high schoolers (soph/junior) raced very fast today.

1600- 4:24 (4:29)
3200- 9:43 (9:44)
