yes but its quite a shame because she is so cocky. first i couldnt believe it when a picture in the paper had her holding up two fingers for winning her second XC group II title. then i saw her firsthand wagging her index finger as she crossed the line to win the group II 1600 earlier this month. puhlease. get over yourself vanessa. tauro and tomlin would OWN you

she beat tauro by eleven seconds in cross country, and tomlin didn't even make it to the xc moc. perhaps tauro and tomlin would win in a mile but in a deuce, which is the distance in question, it would be foolish to make such a rash assumption.
pre was cocky and nobody puts down his accomplishments for it. go and learn something about running before saying such silly things.

OK, here's an idea: when you win a state title don't hold up any fingers. Until then, lay off of those who do and celebrate.
It was very impressive to see her peak so well for nationals. Hopefully she can stay healthy next year and run to her full potential.

Renee Tomlin did not run XC. Take your own advice.

are you really going to compare prefontaine to vanessa wright, are you kidding me? there is no perhaps about tauro and tomlin beating her in a mile, but how about in the two mile a healthy sedberry? and you know what that isnt even fair, wright is a good runner im not putting down her abilities, however i will still say that her antics when she wins are ridiculous. who wags a finger as the finish a race, honestly, as if shes saying "no you don't" to the competition? give me a break. and you are telling me something about running? please, who are you let's race so i can take a leaf out of wright's book as i make an @ss of myself and the sport while im crossing the line. you are silly to defend a conceited winner

Why should her being cocky (which she may or may not even be) take away from her accomplishment?
I think there's a thread labeled "jealous" in the playground or something... go check it out.

Why don't you just stop it? The original poster simply stated her time and place. There was no need for you to slam her. Just leave it alone and go out for a run, will ya?

fine, fine. you are right. i just know i'd real pissed if i was the person finishing behind her busting my butt, seeing her do that. i'm done though. my defense of the basic sportsmanlike principles of this sport is through for now

What's worse, celebrating a little when you win, or whining like a little school girl and slamming somebody? Grow up.
Are you really that fired up about her putting a finger in the air after winning a race? Seriously? Seriously?
She's good. Deal with it. Let her enjoy it a little. It's not like she was talking trash out there.

no you're not putting down her abilities you're putting down her which is even worse. i'm pretty sure you are either a bitter former competitor of hers or just so caught up and blinded by your own jealously of what you can never be that you feel the need to demean others. when you cross the finish line first, no matter what the race is, you are the best. in my mind, maybe it's being showy, but it certainly is not being nearly as cocky and conceited as you claim it to be.
