This weekend, at the New England meet at BU, Brian Gagnon and Keith Gill will be throwing it down in the 1000, providing they both make the finals. Who do you think will win and how?

Gagnon's PRs:
1:51 800 last year
2:25.8 1k this year
1:02.62 500 this year

Gill's PRs:
4:07.2 mile this year
1:52.00 800 this year
2:27.00 1000 this year

Wizard has been sick the past couple of days and didn't run yesterday or the day before. However, he seems quite healthy today after two days of bed rest.

Gagnon wants it to be known that his legs were chopped off today and they arn't gonna be ready to use until 10 minutes before the race.

Edit: I just made that up

We need to get Rici's opinion on this matter. Maybe we can get a 225 nuff said up in here. This should be a great race. Someone should record it.

Actually, I made that up about him wanting everyone to know that he was sick (he has been sick, he didn't tell me to include it). I'm sorry because I didn't realize how bad it sounded. He's not one to make excuses for himself. I was just trying to get all the info out, again I'm sorry if I editorialized a bit.

This thread sucks.

Keep it on the college boards where I'll be dominating the poll and looking cooler.

no way this thread is legit. if someone can make a thread praising ryan keough, and have everybody suck his dick for a million pages then you can def. have a thread on keith gill vs. brian gagnon.

I didn't think that it would resurface, but I guess people still remember this picture of Wizard?

And I think you missed the point of Wiz's post.

Edit -

This poll: 65/35 Gagnon

That other (http://talk.dyestat.com/showthread.php?t=53228) one: 68/32 Gill.

It should be noted that Gill was clocked at 4:03 for 1600 in a DMR a couple weekends ago on a double.

He's ready to go faster than 2:27 for a much shorter race.

And I'm willing to bet Gagnon's 2:25.8 won't hold up in the final, and that's if he can even repeat it.

Voted Gill.

Based on times, I'm guessing it went out slow? Wiz, spill the deats.

First few laps are hazy, but I sure remember the finish:

Lap 1: Non-Gagnon kid takes it in about 29 high - Gagnon in 2nd with me on his shoulder

Lap 2: Non-Gagnon kid leads through 59 high - same

Lap 3: Gagnon takes over lead goin' into lap 3 and leads through 1:28? maybe 1:29?

Lap 4: Gagnon leads but doesn't pick up pace (1:59?), I move up into solid 2nd for whole lap, but for some reason I'm on the inside of Lane 1 instead of the outside of Lane 1 (not my style)

Lap 5: This is where I self pwn myself. Instead of getting right up on Gag's shoulder when I had the chance, I forget about the other non-Gagnon's in the race and they come up on us going into the final lap. Immediately I realize my mistake but they're on my outside as we round the turn. Gagnon picks up the pace down the backstretch unchallenged as I'm unable to get around the 2 non-Gagnon's. We hit the final turn and I'm now in 4th as a result of my hesitation and Gagnon is beginning his kick to the line. I see him go and can do nothing about it (would have had to move to Lane 4 to make the pass on the turn). The inside non-Gagnon (Lane 1) moves slightly to the outside of Lane 1 in order to prevent the outside non-Gagnon and me from passing him. I barely fit between him and the rail as I finally kicked in on the inside of Lane 1 and watched Gagnon win... could do nothing but smile as I crossed.

Got outraced.

In the 4x8, I got the baton in 5th and UCONN was too far ahead for a second battle.

wasn't the race i hoped it would be. as wiz described, he seemed to forget that there would be other kickers in the race and in the last 200 he was completely boxed in and made a final move to eek out 2nd.
