We need to right the date down here, and also take pictures. The Prime Minister of Vietnam comes to visit the country for diplomatic reasons. And who greets him? A bunch of liberal, pinko, lentil eating, tie-dye wearing freaks screaming about human rights violations. Ok, fine, I can almost live with that. But let's say, five years from now, Bin Laden is hiding in Vietnam and we decide to invade, put in a democracy while we're at it, and hunt the man down. You know what will happen? The same granola eating, Greenpeace joinin' freaks will show up at the Whitehouse, carrying signs that say we have no right to do what we're doing. These same people, I'm sure, have been protesting W's policy in Iraq. It really bothers me that the extreme's in the country (both right and left) have no consistency in their belief systems. Sorry all, just a Monday morning rant.

Let's say that, five years from now, the 2010 version of Charles Manson is hiding out somewhere in Pennsylvania, and the Feds decide to go in and take over the entire state and install martial law. Would that be ok?

Would that be ok?You miss my point entirely. I'm not saying we SHOULD go into any nation. I'm saying this .... either have a philosophy of "mind your own business" or have the philosophy of "behave the way we see fit". But some people like to protest for the sake of protesting. The same people who fight for the right to abortion (aka slaughter a fetus) show up in the woods to protect the animals from the hunters. Just nuts.

You're right, the fringe activists tend to get on board, whatever the issue of the moment happens to be.

Beamon, you have your facts a little wrong.
The great majority of the protesters were Vietnamese-Americans who know very well what's it like to be oppressed by Communists.
The regular left-wing lie-berals would NEVER protest anything their ideological leaders from China, North Korea, or Vietnam do. To them, the only source of evil in the world is the United States of America.

Does Greenpeace scare the living crap out of anyone else in here? I mean, such great ideas and goals-- but it has too much in common with terrorist-funding PETA.
