Has anyone run in the Asics Speedstars and experienced suprisingly rapid wear on the forefoot? I've had six pairs now, but on my last two the forefoot has worn down to the white form in less than 3 weeks. Just wondering if anyone else has had experienced this phenomenon.
Also, if you're someone who liked the Speedstars and thought they worked for you, can you suggest another similar shoe that might work well for me?
Thanks.

Yes, I get it on the outside by my toes and in the middle wear the foam strip is.
I like them quite a bit, and I really like the DS Racers, but I don't know how comparable they are, I can't feel much of a difference, but I'm also training full time in both, so I doubt they would affect me as much as somebody that doesn't use them as much.
I'm also training in Nike Pegasus TC's they are a higher profile [in the forefoot] and have more of a heel too, but they are very stripped down and flexible, you could try those. Once again, not perfectly comparable, but similar I guess.

I think it's probably a characteristic of all lightweight trainers, my DS trainers wear down after about a month and a half (granted this is about 360 miles), but they're so comfortable compared to the nasty bulky trainers that I'd say it's worth it.

Would this shoe be a good transition shoe from trainers to flats?

yeah, they're definitely a lot lighter and not as supportive as regualar trainers, but they're still wider and more cushioned than flats
And about the fast wear, I haven't really had much trouble. I've had 3 pairs now and it takes about 350 miles before I've hit the white foam. The only place I've had it is in the ball area right in front of the strip.
Actually I just checked, I have about 420 miles on my current pair and only three of the dots are worn off on each shoe.
