Outdoor meets are starting up all around. You guys should all post up your season goals or season distances you have attained thus far in the jumping events. Good luck everyone!

BTW, mine are 7 m and 14 m in the LJ/TJ

Well long time no post here, but here are my results in my first 2 outdoor meets here in mexico:

State (sub 20) :

- 100m : 11.47
- Long Jump : 21'6 (PB)
- Triple Jump: 44'10.25" ( good... but I feel that I need a koach that knows about jumps and not just about speed )

Regional (sub 20):

- 100m : 11.40
- Long Jump: 21'9.25" (PB) ( Damn 2 more cm and I have the marc for the open nationals )
- Triple Jump:44'1.5" ( the night before this I drunk a lot, but anyway I need a jumps koach)

So... next year I woul be in a college, I hope that I can fidn a good jumps coach, so let's see what happen, the improtant meet this year is the sub 20 nationals in my country in may so... I need to work hard, and my goals are the next ones:

100m: 11.30
Long Jump: 22'3.75"
Triple Jump: 46' (I'm sad about the Triple because I like it a lot, but... anyway... maybe next year in college)ç

c ya guys

Now that two of my teammates are finally trying I have even more motivation now :) Outdoor PRs coming tomorrow.

Well I guess it was ok, given the circumstances.

20'9"
42'10"

I fell down in the High Hurdles after dipping at the line and skinned my hand pretty badly. Then in the 300IH my lead leg caught under a hurdle coming off the curve and I just skidded across the track, messing the left side of my body up. Oh well, I wasn't felling to great anyway so should be a good season.

I'm psyched for this outdoor season needless to say.

Gah, this sucks. My coach had what doctors think was a mild stroke last Thursday which sucks in itself. But to top it off we can't go to the invite we had scheduled for Saturday so the next meet is a little dual-meet on the 17th. :(

had our first outdoor meet yesterday, cold as hell about 40 degrees, plus i had to take the act before so got aobut a 20 minute warmup, not to bad based on the conditions though. 19.9 in long jump and 41.2 in triple, both jumping into a strong wind. hopefully the weather gets better soon, 3 weeks untill conference

jumpboy
04-17-2007, 09:18 PM
Damn today sucked! It was high 40's, low 50's and windy as hell. If that wasn't bad enough it was the worst track I've ever seen. Holes everywhere. The sand in the pit felt like it had concrete under it. And I don't think the hurdle markings where right, I could have two stepped the 110 hurdles probably.

I long jumped 19'4" and won. Two other guys and me who have jumped at least 21' just couldn't jump well today. I only tripled 37'11" before proceding to take a 6 step approach jump. oh well, hopefully saturday will be better.

So today was filled with good and bad.

LJ - 21'5.5" (old pr 21'4") two jumps over 21'
TJ - 41' (my "best" event, 2 feet off my PR)
110 - 14.5 (15.3 old pr so I destroyed it if it was true but there were three timers)
300IH - 41.3 (41.50 FAT so roughly the same) on track for sub 40 but i can't lead on my opposite leg...at all

I don't think I have the strength to do all this in a three hour span, hence why my tj sucks relative to my other PRs and for all the work I've been doing.

ilovebummies

We had a coaches event today and I TJed for the first time in over 2 years. Went 39'1" off of an 11 step approach because I don't think there's any way I could've handled any more speed. This was a good wake up of how bad of shape I've let myself slip to, although I'm pretty sure I could've gone 40' since the 39'1 jump was with a **** landing and me looking at the board since I had scratched all my other jumps. I really wanna triple jump again :)

Wow, just realized 2.30 is the Olympic A standard, should have some good American representation in Beijing!

Donald Thomas should be jumping 9 feet by the time the Olympics roll around, though.

Congrats! It's always tough when you PR, then don't place. It's happened to me in the triple in college, you just have to be happy you improved.

Didn't you state the season out with a PR of 37' ish? If so getting up to 41' isn't a bad improvement in a season.

Speaking of triple I finally had a decent day of TJ. I jumped 43'4.25" but dropped my legs landing. Then went on to foul my other 5 jumps :) at least I qualified for states :p

I pr'ed again in high jump a few weeks back, got 6'4. I've only jumped once since then, i hate my league restrictions (1 track 2 field or vice versa), my coach makes me throw jav and run both hurdles every meet so i never get to jump...

Nice jump. 8.04 is pretty crazy! There are a few guys seeded in 7.9x for NCAA Nationals, should be a good competition.

According to USATF 6ft11 is 210, 6ft11.25 is 211:p, as its somewhere inbetween 210 and 211.

This is why america should use metric, imperial complicates things!

I can guarantee that the standard conversion is 2.10= 6'10.75". Same thing with 2.13 being 6'11.75".

PR'ed in TJ at my nationals:

46'3"

Ironic ... I did'nt train the TJ after my reigonals in march, because my coach hoped that in LJ I would do the things better, and we leave the triple, then with no training, I do 14.10m, to finish 4th. in LJ mark a 6.58 m to take 4th

Next year I would leave LJ, to focus myself just in the TJ, next year I hope I can do a 14.50 m

c ya guys
