Do you know of a team with several high quality (non-senior) runners? If so, share your knowledge with us! (Including class if possible)

Basically, we're looking at any team with at least 5 runners that have gone under 4:40/10:10 this year, or having run under these marks at their respective state meets this fall:

Texas State: 17:05

(Sorry, but I haven't found ways to accurately include other states yet)

or, for a team that competed at NTN last year, runners that were under 18:20.

Example: (Sorry that this is an example of the MW)

Nequa Valley IL
Chris Derrick (Jr.) 14:22 IL State, 4:19.18 1600m, 9:03.?? 3200m
Jim Riddle (Jr.) 14:45 IL State, 4:28.?? 1600m, 9:42.?? 3200m
Mike Ruff (Jr.) 15:30 IL State
Danny Pawola (So.) 15:42 IL State, 9:17.?? 3200m
Brian Morenus (So.) 15:45 IL State, 10:04.?? 3200m
Kevin Grady (Jr.) 15:59 IL State
Connor Shields (So.)- 4:29.?? 1600m, 10:00.?? 3200m
Luke Verbus (Fr.)- 10:05.?? 3200m
Bryan Winek (So.)-10:09.?? 3200m
Aaron Beatie (Fr.)- 10:09.?? 3200m

As long as there are 5 under 4:40/10:10/(the XC requirement), please share!

Thanks in advance, and please keep us up to date!

clear lake girls return 5, plus an incredibly talented 8th grader will be joining the team (i think she ran a 5:17 as a 7th grader), they got 3rd in Region 3, and i think 6th at state

Cy Fair girls return 6, they got 4th in Region 3

Ok, so this is what I have so far:

Woodlands
Connor Reed (10) -- 4:17.08, 9:14.65
Matt Golden (11) -- 4:33.21, 9:43.41
Layne Nixon (11) -- 4:27.67, 9:49.1

Along with what they ran in 3200m time trials:
Drew Butler (10) 9:43
Quinn Valentine (11) 9:45
Rich Spearman (10) 9:46
Layne Nixon (11) 9:47
Z. Schleyer (11) 9:50
Tim Wang (11) 9:50
Brad Folks (10) 9:51
Mitch Blakeley (11) 9:53
Bryce Young (11) 9:54
Austin Kovacjch (9) 9:54
Ian Adams (11) 9:57
Tyler Rich (10) 9:59

Any more info than that?

As far as I know, only 3 Southlake Carroll runners have gone under the 4:40/10:10/XC cut-offs.

So instead of having 3 guys way ahead of the rest of their guys, and being a 3-man team, they'll have 2 guys REALLY far ahead of the rest of their guys, with a 3rd in no-man's land. Sweet.

Anyone have any info on Jesuit (LA) ?

This is all I can find on them:
Kevin Fitzgerald 11 Jesuit LA (17:10 LA XC) 4:26.96 1600m
Graham Williams 11 Jesuit LA (17:17 LA XC) 4:38.00 1600m, 9:50.52 3200m
Cory Guidry 11 Jesuit LA (17:19 LA XC)
Chad Guidry 11 Jesuit LA (17:29 LA XC)
Cullen Doody 11 Jesuit LA 4:36.81 1600m
Peter Flores 10 Jesuit LA (17:29 LA XC) 10:00.77 3200m

a 19 second spread #1-5 or 1-6, whichever, is pretty solid... and going by track times they wouldn't be WAY back in the pack, but not all that far up there either... I don't have a good way of using Louisiana XC times yet, but I'm hoping there are more track results floating around for them out there?

2 from Norman

but no teams with 5 or more under returning. :(

Regardless, Southlake Carroll will finish in the top 8 teams (probably 6th-8th) because their such ballers.

Also, Mayde Creek will probably be the other boys team to qualify for NTN.

I do hope that South receives some bids, especially on the girls side, whom have shown constantly that they are successful and able to compete at that level of competition.

For the girls:
Keller, Kingwood, Southlake Carroll (just because they always do good every year) --- the 3 to beat.

wait wait, you think SLC is going to be top-8 at nationals or regionals? I'd guess they have a pretty good shot at top-3 at regionals, as it would be hard to unseat them with 2 guys in the top-10 there. But at nationals, I think there will simply be too many runners in the race and their #3/4/5 guys will weight them down back into about 13th or 14th. Somewhere in there.

But anyways, what do you know about Mayde Creek? Anything from track?

And The Woodlands will still be my pick for #1 out of the South. That's some crazy depth they have

I seriously don't think SLC will place worse next year, considering they still return their #1-#2, as well as 3 other runners. Look at the girls side, projected last? place finishing, ended up third in the nation. I also doubt that some of their runners had an exceptional race at NTN.

As for Mayde Creek, I *THINK* I saw one race in which 3 of their runners dipped under 10:00, though, none of them were like a sub 9:40 however.

Yes Cl girls have extreme depth and 5 returing. Trust me i know. They CL guys have 4 returning but also have a very talented JV group which some will move up. Region III is going to be insane next year.

at best PW is looking at top 20 in the NTN South rankings.... in a PERFECT situation

Cinco Ranch: Was their 2nd senior Evan Godloin?

Who looks like the best 4A team? Who do they return?

And outside of Texas... anyone know who Rogers AR #5 is going to be? I couldn't find any track times for anyone beyond their returning top-4 (Roth, Hamilton, Surly, Efurd)
