This is an unusual event for HS and it seems to be a popular event for distance schools. I have heard a few teams from the Heartland and Midwest are going to run the 4X1 Mile Relay at this years NON. Pleasant Valley in Iowa is reportedly going and I've heard Potosi and Fort Zumwalt South from Missouri as well.
Last years winner (Fayetteville Manlius) won in 17:18 and if you add up the PR's for the schools above (as best as I could find as the Potosi numbers are from districts) you have:
17:24 Ft Zumwalt South
17:42 Pleasant Valley
17:44 Potosi
Does anyone know of any other team(s) from the Heartland going or who could compete in this race?

Potosi's best times from this season are
Thebeau - 4:16.87
Mathis - 4:21.61
Swearingen - 4:23.07
****eman - 4:23.5
Total - 17:25.05
Both Josh's have faster PR's from last season. Also they run their state 1600 tomorrow. They will probably both run faster tomorrow. We'll see.
Hickman HS from Columbia MO actually ran a 17:45 4x1600 earlier this year.

willmar won't be doing it...if they do anything at all it'd be the 4x800, but i'm doubting that as well

I don't know if Lakeville South has a 4th (only using the MN Honor Roll as reference), but their top three are pretty fast:
Hilson 4:13.61
Volz 4:22.99
Backes 4:32.71
13:07 for 3...another 4:33 would put them at 17:40.

FZS (Rood and Cole) also went faster as well
Rood - 4:12.04
Cole - 4:15.66
Moore - 4:22.30
Funderburk - 4:28.00
Total Time - 17:18.00
Question is.....can you gain entry to the NON 4xMile by just submitting your four fastest runner for the year, or do you have to compete in the race throughout the season to get an official 4xMile time? Rood asked me this after the State meet, and I didn't know how to answer him....apparently FZS is wanting to run.
