Underrated for sure! One place better at FLNE and I think he would have gotten a lot more of the credit he deserves. I think he'll make a name for himself at Colorado though...

Wow, even though I knew the outcome, I just couldn't see how he could make up that gap....and then it just disappeared. He made up 30m in the last 100. One of the best comebacks I have ever seen.

I was thinking the same thing. I wish I would have saw that live... really exciting comeback.

it was so exciting to watch. i was sitting on the hill right past the finish line. when he won that race i think everyone there stood up and aplauded it was amazing.

The way that Christian Thompson flew down that final straightaway in the 3,000 meter steeplechase to nip Ryan McDermott has earned him the nickname "THE CONDOR FROM CANDOR"!:D

That picture posted by BRD made me think back to the 2003 FLNE regional...so I checked back to refresh my memory:
Forys 16:34.6 (48th in seeded race)
BRD 17:06.2 (1st in frosh race)
Thompson 17:14.2 (2nd in frosh race)
Centrowitz 18:13.1 (17th in frosh race)
Many other familiar names that are now completing their high school careers were also in the frosh race that day.

Just looked back at results (forgot i ran that race!). An impressive 19:36 showing for 63 in the frosh race :p Some other people in there:
