right so I've been trying to figure this out all week. I have a 5k race in the morning, but the only problem is I'm not sure what to run in. Last year I ran in my trainers, but they were relatively light- this year they're more or less bricks. I don't have any flats (I know, I know), but I have waffles and old lighter trainers. What do you think? just go with the waffles or old light trainers?

i'd use the waffles if i were you, esp. if youre taking the race seriously (instead of a workout type of thing)

My first question would be why are you using shoes for training that are "more or less bricks."?

odds are your waffles are better than any flat you could buy.

Go with the obvious choice, the waffles, unless you have a serious aversion to them for some reason.
