Download a picture or whatever, then use a photo program to resize and/or crop.

yeah it definitely allows you to find posts much easier, and skip over people who you don't feel like hearing from at the moment.
I'm contemplating on changing from the puffball, but I haven't found a new one I want to use yet.

Yeah, I changed computers since my avatar was up and didn't want to try to transfer over the pic ... so i just found a random picture on this computer and there you go.

I noticed a lot of ppl with new avatars. I'd guess i'd change mine if I didn't love Lindsay Lohan anymore, but I don't see that happening anytime soon

How do you shrink down an animated gif, such as my cheetah (which is supposed to be animated, btw)? Photo editor appears to make it a "still" image.

You need a photo editor for animations, heh. Sounds like common sense eh? I use the JASC programs, Paint Shop Pro 7 and Animation Shop 3, you COULD find them on P2P's, although thats dishonest. There is also PSP 8 out, with possibly a newer version of AS, but I prefer 7.

Um, yeah, photo editor was the "default" for opening GIFs on my computer. I don't have any of the software you mentioned, but I found a nifty free site for editing GIFs.
