Looks like a great race!

Chelmsford, Amherst, Concord Carlisle, Westfield and Keene NH look the the pre-season favorites in the boys team race on paper. The Amherst Invitational will be a close race, with teams that will be among the top in Massachusetts.

Josh Andrews, Brian Hunt, Roy Bondurant, Jason Ayr, Mike Sullivan, and Ricky Lania, look like the favorites at this point. If Pittsfield enters, then Zach Gordon will be up near the front.

Paul Norton, G. Amarsiriwardena, Ben Kulp, Mike Sweeney, Alex Dossin, Matt Coogan, Ian Schofield, Zach Jewett, Michael Stasaitis, Matt Dennis should be some the the front runners of the teams entered so far.

Does anyone know who Westfield is returning besides Ayr, Mike Sullivan, Kyle Pierce, Jeff Burke and Jake Mitchell?

Does Joe Pike return? Sean Sullivan?

WMass doesn't list a runner's year in their results, so it is hard to know who they return.

The girl's race should be very strong.

Amherst, Concord Carlisle, Dennis-Yarmouth and Chelmsford are 4 of the top 5 teams at the All-State D1 race, and should all be strong this year.

Concord Carlisle looks like the favorite on paper, with Cassi Knight and Lindsey Clark, and Emma Schumacher returning.

Longmeadow should be in the team race with Emily Boudreau, Jamie Sullivan, and Rebecca Engell.

Individual favorites include Cassi Knight, Emily Boudreau, Brooke Fallon, Kate Knowles, Paige Mills, Lindsey Clark, Rebecca Engell, Cailey Condit and Meghan Curran

Cathedral has Matt Dennis
Concord-Carlisle have Bondurant, Lania, and Coogan.
Chelmsford has Andrews, Sweeney, Benedict, Dossin, and Eynation
Keene has Ian Schofield and Jewitt
Westfield has Jason Ayr and Mike Sullivan

and Amherst-Pelham has Hunt, Norton, Amarasiriwardena, and Kulp.

I think the individual race will be a battle between Andrews, Hunt, and Ayr

with Bondurant, Schofield, Sullivan, Dennis, Norton, Amarsiriwardena and Lania right behind.

Question: Is Longmeadow or East Longmeadow competing?

I assumed Longmeadow was since they ran last year. The teams list on the web site says last updated July 1, and doesn't list them though.

You probably know better than anyone who is competing. For example South Hadley is not listed, but you know they will be running.

What list do you have.

just to kinda throw it out there in terms of people asking about matt dennis, he is doing xc. also watch out for the johnson twins from ludlow, they won't win the race, but they should be up there. and gordon from pittsfield had looked pretty good if they're going. i think east longmeadow is doing another race, they're kinda weak besides mayberry anyways.

First mile is mostly all up hill. The start of the course is a hill that is longer than 1/2 a mile. For the rest of the course its rolling hills. Be careful to not fall in between the river banks or what ever they are called. I remember Allstates two years ago. It was harsh. I learned the hard way not to go out to fast. Its the hardest course I've ever ran. I think it should be kepted for training only.lol. Good luck guys. Hope your all fit cause that is a hard course...

With Amirault, Andrews, Hunt, Forbes, Carrasco, Ayr, Bondurant, Bleday, Mulvaney, Sullivan, Gibson, Higgins, Matt Dennis, Lania, Mischo, Miranda and Collier there, I figure someone will go sub 16:00 in decent weather. That's a pack that could really push each other! I figure that is a third of the top boys harriers in Massachusetts.

Dan Sullivan ran 15:53 in 2002, with Ian Marcus second in 15:58. There's a good chance that record will fall.

Ian Marcus was 2nd at the All-States D1 in 2002, so he was an excellent runner.

Carrasco ran 16:28 in 2003 at the Amherst Invitational.

Is Brockton going to race there? That would be great!

For those who do not live on Cape -
Weatherbee ran away from Jill Lyon (Barnatable) last Tuesday to win by nearly 10 seconds. I heard she could have run faster, if needed. Fallon was third about 30 seconds behind those two.

Weatherbee beating Barton (in Falmouth) means little, except she is in good shape. That means she will be a B-I-G factor in any race she runs.

Not sure that D-Y is deep enough yet, but it should be interesting (if it not too wet.)

Now, don't y'all be too hard on us hicks from the hills of Western Mass. Why, we used to LOVE taking long runs through the surrounding farming towns of Hadley, Hatfield, Leverett, Shutesbury... anyone know if cassi knight was just taking it easy?

Don't know about Knight, but looks like Weatherbee took it easy - winning by thirty-three (33) seconds. Seems like that is easy, yes??

Way to go D-Y!!!!

Let's hope that the D-Y girls don't run against the Wh boys when they meet. Might be interesting (just kidding!).

DY girls & WH boys are the class of the ACL!!!

He posted that he has an anemia concern and is trying to avoid going all out until Manhattan.

This is the same guy who was bragging about running two road races in one day during the summer. Anemia's got nothing to do with it. My guess is that his head is bigger than his heart.

1 Amherst Regional High Sch 86 2 6 8 32 38 // 40 42
2 Methuen High School 89 4 11 18 25 31 // 53
3 Xavarian Brothers 93 1 5 16 26 45 // 62

With Brockton yet to race at an invite  , Clearly these three are the leaders "at this point in time", Methuen had 5 in before Amherst's 4th, but couldnt overcome 3 in the Top 8. X-Men need to close the gap at 4-5, 40 seconds could be deadly at the Class A meet.

If Methuen had Miranda running I think they would have won this meet easily, he is usually there second guy so he prolly would have been top 10.

Miranda injured? That would be really horrible for Methuen...

Does anyone know why Dan McDonough wasn't running for Xaverian at Amherst?

Does anyone know why Josh Andrews didn't run for Chelmsford? Hopefully he is not injured.

Xaverians 5th man could not make it to the meet (actaully he could be he missed the bus :( ),

that 40 second gap between macisaac and alexander should be about 10 when dan and amac are the 4-5 guys.
