The NFL Season (preseason...) is officially underway in Chicago!!! Loved the first two series for the offense today. You're going to have penalties and stuff in the first game, such as that 12-men in the huddle penalty haha.
Anyways...Grossman was on target with his reads, and looked off the safeties frequently. These were the things he talked about in training camp and the offseason and it's great to see that he wasn't just talking. He had one bad throw (the incompletion horrible overthrow to the flat), but was otherwise solid. Easy, short passes for 5-7 yards, just what you would expect out of a first preseason start.
The new 2-TE set...oh man I am so excited for this to be used in actual game action. Giving the safeties the decision between putting double coverage on Olsen (or else he'll burn the linebacker) or on Berrian/Bradley (or else they'll burn the CB). Fun!
I can't wait for a Bears game that John Madden calls so that I can hear him yell out "BOOM!" whenever Ced Benson makes contact with the first tackler. BOOM, bring on the next guy. I loved his first run on the 2nd series, he just lowered his shoulder and nailed that guy...love it
Bears gettin real disrespected so far on the NFL predictions thread on the Playground....and it seems like they are everywhere in the nation. Can't wait for them to prove everyone wrong and return to the Super Bowl
