It's pretty obvious if you read between the lines, so to say.

The periods represent any Internet user and the space between the periods represents the physical distance between users.

Looking at the ... we imagine them together, although they are all independent of each other. Us Internet users are all independent of each other, but through sites like Dyestat we imagine ourselves together.

That was my 3 am interpretation at least. Brilliant job Ozone.

Actually, the spaces are a metaphor for life. If you could magnify the periods about 42 times, you'd have a decent-sized hunk of chocolate which represents the "filler" in our lives. Chocolate is in fact the spice of life, not to mention the spice of choice for use in ice cream, brownies, M&Ms, smoothies, house salads, homemade meatballs, cereal, tomato sauce, and prime rib.

These are our new Track Talk rules, developed by the DyeStat team. We will likely post them in the registration information soon, as well as other places on the site. Please abide by them. Thank you.

Seven Simple Rules for DyeStat Posters:

1. No Personal Attacks – If you want to criticize an athlete's performance, cool. If you want to argue about one athlete being better than another, that's fine too. You can even criticize the way an athlete conducts himself at a competition. However, people's personal lives, appearance, race, religion, character off the track, gender, and sexual orientation is off limits.

2. Keep Things Civil – No overtly vulgar or sexual topics, don't use profanity, and no promotion of drugs, alcohol or illegal behavior. You don't have to behave like your grandmother, or even your parents are in the room, but your behavior should be decent enough that a coach on a bus would be fine overhearing or at least ignoring you.

3. Be Honest - Make sure that the information you provide when you register is both honest and accurate.

4. No Spamming - The boards are for talking track and cross country, and connecting with other people who care about the sport – not for you to try to sell or advertise something. We may delete posts or threads with links not in the best interest of DyeStat.

5. Respect the Topics – Please keep the forums and threads on topic and don't hijack them. If you want to talk about something different, start your own thread. If you think we need a forum for another state or topic, tell us and we’ll do it if there’s interest.

6. Don’t Get Banned – It’s a dirty part of the job, but it has to be done. We may move or delete threads or posts for any reason we feel is appropriate, and may warn or ban those making posts or threads that violate the rules, for any length of time or permanently. If you’re banned, please don’t try to register again with another name.
Please help us by clicking the "report post" icon to report posts or threads that are offensive or not within the guidelines.

7. Ellipses - The use of ellipses is strictly forbidden and is the most serious offense outlined herein. Anyone caught posting any ellipses will be immediately banned for life and we will also contact Letsrun and have the offender banned there as well. This is a retroavtive rules, so everyone should go back and edit out all their prior uses of ellipses.

To a great extent, the Track Talk message boards are what you make them. Thank you and have fun!

JW

Why didn't the tag work? You have to be really tricky and overlap some random tags inside of it to confuse the computer.
