400Robbins

all i remember from the foxboro mansfield meet was that mcdermott went 11.1 and 23.3 in the 100 and 200. I went 11.3 and 23.8 in the 100 and 200. Powell ran a 53 somethin, and thats all i remember.
Are they going to restore our old thread or have us just make new ones all over again?

i'm a hurdler so the only thing I remember is
Costello(sp) from franklin ran a 15.x(think it was 15.5) and they have another guy @ 16.5ish. And an OA guy ran around a 16.5, too.
I saw a couple of 44's for the 300h. Sawin ran a 42.3, Leonard ran a 42.9, I've run a 42.6.
Our 4x400 ran a 3:41 with 4/4th of the relay team injured

Sharon demolished OA on the track, especially in the sprinting events, but barely scored (i don't even know if they did) in the throwing events. Also, our freshman phenom didn't even place in the high jump, and our senior rookie Davey Hanold came up with a jump of 5'6". We lost the meet by a lot, but if we had any strength and size/football players we could have pulled it out!

We got completely swept in javelin, discus, and shot, got 1 point in high jump, and 3 points in triple jump. I wouldn't say we lost the meet by a lot; it was less than 10 point I think. We just needed some throwers.

Stizz, are we in competition or something? Last time I checked, I wasn't an 800 runner. And last time I checked, I was still partly injured when I ran that 800. And also, last time I checked, I purpously came out in 63 seconds, and I purpously didn't run as fast as I wanted to, just wanted to get the win. But now, since I'm basically 100%, I will be running the 400 and 4x4, and I'll let you know how I run. Honestly man, back off, I have nothing against you. The Silver Lake kid? I, somehow, don't think that's out of the realm of possibility. I think his name is Jeff something, and he ran 6.56(?) in the 55m dash as a sophomore back in the day in his SECOND MEET EVER but then quit track all together. No doubt in my mind he could've been under 6.4ish FAT, which is definitely good enough for a 10.3 handtime if he had those 25 mph winds behind him today.

the ankle obviously isn't broken, that's just what everyone on the sharon team has been saying, i don't know why. But she ran a 66 on some type of injury that is keeping her from running now that has something to do with her ankle. And i learnerd that you can't walk on a broken ankle from experience. you know it's broken when you fall over on the first step you take after you break it.

Canton swept 100, 200, 300h, and Long Jump.
Gentry Jones ran a 10.8 after a week off, with no wind this time and also PR'ed in the Long Jump with a 19'10".
Zach McAdams (C) in his first disc throw ever placed first with throw of 104'X", followed by Hashim Haneef with a 103'X".
Pat Murphy ran a 51.6 in the 400.
Our 4X100 managed not to foul for the first time this season.

Mansfield beat Canton today, 80-56, I'll just post a few highlights since I'm sure Clayman will have everything up pretty soon.
McDermott beat Gentry and Fabian in the 100 and 200.
Mansfield swept shot, disc and jav.
Canton swept high jump.
I won the mile and two mile (4:51/10:20).
Pat Murphy won the 400.
Mansfield swept the relays, winning both by small margins.
Mansfield went 1-2 in the 800, watson-lutkevitch, both in with 2:06.x, Caggiano from Canton came in third with a 2:07.9.

Sorry I couldn't run today, guys. Someone thought it'd be funny to steal my spike bag that I left at the school with three pairs of spikes in them. It wasn't. I don't know who honestly would want a pair of spikes that say "Clayman MHS" on the back, but to each his own. I just don't know how I'm gonna replace those long jump spikes, I loved those things to death and I know they don't make them anymore.
Anyway, enough of my bitching, onto results:
100 - McDermott (M) - 10.9, Jones (C) - 11.1 LIMPING, Faublas (C) - 11.3
200 - McDermott (M) - 22.7, Faublas (C) - 22.9(?), Jones (C) - 23.1(?)
400 - Murphy (C) - 51.6, Simpson (M) - ??.?, Boulanger (C) - 54.4
800 - Watson (M) - 2:06.x, Lutkevich (M) - 2:06.x, Caggiano (C) - 2:07.9
Mile - Sharpe (C) - 4:51, everyone else
Two Mile - Sharpe (C) - 10:20, Cerquiera (M) - 10:22, Caeran (M) - ??:??
110h - Nguyen (C) - 16.4, Kerikas (C) - ??.?, Conti (M) - 17.4
300h - Conti (M) - 44.1, Benjaminsen (M) - ??.?, Chin (C) - ??.?
Long Jump - Faublas (C) - 20'3", McDermott (M) - 19'7", Jones (C) - 19'3"
Triple Jump - Jones (C) - 40+ (41+)?, Faublas (C)/Benjaminsen (M) TIE - 38'7"
Shot Put - Mansfield sweep, Trexler, Connors, Martell
Discus - Trexler (M), Martell (M), Connors (M) - 103'10"
Javelin - Mansfield sweep, McDermott (M) - 156', Elich (M) - ???', Benjaminsen (M) - 120'
4x100 - Mansfield - 47.0
4x400 - Mansfield - ?:??.? (I was on the phone with Lint)
I missed the end of the high jump, but D'Agostino and Li both were jumping at 6'. Kerikas, I believe, cleared 5'8" but not 5'10". Adrian'll be on here soon to post those.
As for around the league:
Lint (FX) - 22.4 (or 22.5? I couldn't hear you well on the phone) in the 200, 51.8 in the 400 double
Miller (FX) - 41.5 in the 300h, 6' in the high jump, barely missed at 6'2"; beats Robbie Vaughn
I forget everything else :(
EDIT: Gentry's jump out of the sand was amazing. He's a 41 foot triple jumper and takes off from the 28 foot board, who does that?!
I'm off to buy some spikes, this sucks.

You think that's bad, listen to this. I ride my bike to school every day and have been doing so for 6 years. I've locked it every single day, except that two weeks ago, I had to send it into the shop, and when it came back, the lock was missing. I hadn't gotten around to getting a new lock yet, and it was stolen during school last thursday. Mind you, this is a $700 bike. I was none too pleased, to say the least. I feel for you Clayman.

I still don't know anyone as wierd as I am, but track brings so many different types of people together. And I don't suck that bad at it. Without track, who knows what I'd be doing with my life. I'd probably be on the baseball team and addicted to heroin or something. How boring.

Ya, Keefe, I think we're thinking the same person here. But since I'm a nice kid, I'll answer your question. Two nights before your race is the most important to get in a good meal. Protein is where it's at. I don't really know what you're into, but I always go with the fish. Lots of protein in fish. "The less legs the better. Chicken better than cow, and fish better than chicken." As quoted from Latif's nutrition sheet on my fridge. The night before a meet is the night to get some pasta. Hope I answered your question, if you need anymore help ask.
So who are you mysterious twomiler?
sharondistance
04-27-2005, 10:00 PM
tHANKS FOR THE ANSWER BECAUSE I DID NOT REALLY KNOW THAT YOU NEEDED AN IMPORTANT MEAL 2 NIGHTS BEFORE A MEET BECAUSE I USED TO THINK 2 NIGHTS BEFORE A MEAT YOU COULD JUST EAT JUNK FOOD AND THEN THE NIGHT BEFORE A MEET JUST HAVE A GOOD MEAL BUT ILL USE YOUR ADVICE FOR THE NEXT MEET.
i eat junk food right up until the start of the race, in fact my freshman year 10 minutes before my race, 2 mile, at hock champs i ate 2 hamburgers and pr'ed by 20 seconds, but again who are you?

Wow, it just occured to me that I have no results from the Mansfield/OA meet.
Exceptional performances:
300h - Joe Choinere (M) - 46.xx; first varsity race ever, notches a victory. Also won his heat of the 400.
100m - Greg Clayman (M) - 11.1; stops being slow for the first time all year and starts to look like how he looked in winter. Peter Conti (M) - 12.1 for second.
Mile - John Lutkevich (M) - 4:49; monster kick. Dave Binney (OA), Matt Meagher (M) - 4:51-4:53(?)
400m - Justin Benjaminsen (M) - 55.9; on an injured ankle
110h - I have no idea what happened here
800m - Keith Anderson (OA) wins (2:07[?]), Jeff Atwood (M) and Dan Cerquiera (M) round out the top 3.
200m - Powell Simpson (M) in 23.3; Matt Anderson (M) - 24.0; John Lutkevich (M) 24.3 after winning the mile, Peter Conti (M) 24.3.
Two Mile - Only two guys in the race, Jason O'Connell (M) wins while Brendan Monks (M) finishes second AND last.
High Jump - Jake Nevens (OA) at 5'10", Powell Simpson (M) PRs at 5'8"
Long Jump - Third PR of the day for Powell - 20'5.5"
Triple Jump - Clayman (M) in 40'11"; Benjaminsen (M) 40'7.5", and Nevens (OA) round out the placements.
4x100m - Mansfield wins, OA doesn't run a team.
4x400m - Mansfield wins, OA doesn't run a team.
Anyone wanna help me on other individuals?

Sharon's DMR came in second place in Class C! Will Collins went out in the 1200 at a rediculous pace and held on for a small lead, Barrett Weyneth ran a solid 55.7 with very little rest after the sprint medley to increase the lead a tiny bit, Itai Stein could have run a better 800 leg but kept it close even with his noticable fatigue, and Dan Darcy got outkicked by a nasty Tewskbury runner who needed a PR to beat him. Solid race guys!
Chris Elgar put his heart and pride on the line for me and this DMR team, and along with Captain Matt Rippberger they deserve a ton of respect!
Sharon's 4x800 team also came in 6th overall!

gayed out of the high jump relay...
apparently, when our coach sent in our entry form, the "x" wasn't dark enough next to high jump relay, so the guy reading it didn't put us down for the relay. we had 3 coaches arguing to let us compete, way before the meet started, AND we had an extra registration card since we had to scratch shot put. but nope, they had to let stoneham win at 16'11...we would have broken 18, easy. i'm angry
ljr was bad, runway was slippery and board was worse...we came in 4th

Collins: 2:03

Kane: 2:18 (directly after finishing the 800 leg of the sprint medely)
Darcy: 2:07
something along those lines. We were in the slow heat and by the time i got the baton we were winning by 200 meters.
the only two splits i know for the DMR are mine and Barrett's. Barrett split 55.7 after running the sprint medely not to long before. And i split 4:32 for the 1600, but got outkicked in the last 100 to lose by .4 seconds (I was pissed).

I'm pretty sure you can do the following:
Two Running / One Field / Zero Relays
One Running / One Field / One Relay
Zero Running / Two Field / One Relay
Zero Running / Zero Field / Two Relays
As for me, the only certainty is triple jump, for some reason - even though my hamstring is shot to **** - triple jump doesn't hurt it at all, only the running does (actually, when I run it doesn't hurt, but when I finish running it sure does).
I don't know if anyone does a 100/200 double or 200/400 double because of the prelims/finals, but Kevin Martes won the mile/two mile a few years ago (4:34 / 9:42), Ryan Henderson took 2nd in both the high jump and long jump, and there's always the annual shot and disc winners.
I believe Robbin$ doubled two relays last year (4x1, 4x4), and I know there's always 110h/300h doublers.

What are the rankings of the mile/duece runners in the Hock league? I want to compare to the other leagues in the area, seeing as how my league (OCL) is much more than just lacking in number of teams
First of all I would like to welcome myself back to the boards. Second off I would like to congratulate me and Elich on a hysterical race. And by that I mean we were laughing for the majority of it.. after Sam clipped the first one and almost went down I started laughing, after he was over the second he looked back to see my pathetic attempt to clear it and he started laughing, and im sure everyone watching the race were amused at our stutter stepping and formless jumping(I think on the last one I went over with both legs, like leap frog) Sam was 45.1 I think I was 46.3.. Greg, 3rd place in that event was 46.9 for Choinere. Unfortunately me and Elich missed the shot put check in, so Martel got away with a 42 high for 3rd in the shot. Lucky ran 53.9 for..3rd? in the 400.

What are the rankings of the mile/duece runners in the Hock league? I want to compare to the other leagues in the area, seeing as how my league (OCL) is much more than just lacking in number of teams

Congrats Mansfield Boys and Girls on an undefeated season and winning the Hock Dual meet championship!
I think that is 56 dual meet wins with out a loss for the boys? Is that correct?

Stoughton > Sharon 70 - 66
Girls
Sharon > Stoughton 86-47
(first win since last year)
Sharon pulled off the distance sweep, I know its not that amazing to do aginst Soughton but on Sharon you have to look for highlights wherever you can.
I can't wait till the Frosh/Soph meet Sat. its going to be amazing.

WTF Stoughton:
Roberts (S) - 11.2, Borst (S) - 52.5.
Who the hell is this Roberts kid (first race ever?). . .and isn't Borst a miler, since when does he have that type of speed?!
Was this meet at Sharon?
Also, Robbie Vaughn (NA) jumped 42'3" in the triple earlier this week; making him #1 in the LJ, tied for #1 in the TJ, and tied for #2 in the HJ, Mike Walker (NA) went 41.8 in the 300h to take the league lead.

Updated League List Today (May 5th), a lot of new entries - http://www.athletesacceleration.com/hockomock.htm

It came down to the 4X400, and NA was just a little bit better than us today. We did have two replacement legs in Caggiano and D'Agostino (who hadn't run any 400's at all this season), and yet ran a PR. Some quick stats from the meet:
300h - NA swept
100 - Gentry, NA, NA
Mile - Sharpe 4:50 (C), NA, NA
400 - Murphy (C), NA, NA
110h - NA, Nguyen 16.2 (C), Kerikas (C)
800 - Curren (NA), Caggiano 2:08.9 (C), NA
200 - Faublas 22.98 (C), NA, NA
2 Mile - Sharpe 10:17 (C), NA, NA
4X100 - Canton 44.xx, NA
4X400 - NA, Canton 4:40.xx
High Jump - D'Agostino 6' (C), Kerikas 6' (C), NA
Triple Jump - Jones 41'10.5" (C), Faublas 41'7" (C), NA (top 5 were over 40' )
Long Jump - Faublas (C), NA/ Jones (C) can't remember who was 2nd who was 3rd.
Shot - NA, NA, Haneef (C)
Discus - NA, McAdams 118'? (C), NA
Javelin - NA, NA, NA (how the hell does NA produce such nasty javelin throwers year after year?)
Silly NA kids continued the trend of making me think they were good for the first half of the race then dying in the second half  .

400 - Murphy 52.5 (C)
Has Murphy only lost one time this whole year? Kid's a stud.
EDIT: I think I'm almost ready to start making predictions for Hocks

Yah, since Murphy did indoor track he's gotten crazy good real fast.
The perf. list has Collins from Mansfield running a 2:06.1! I honestly didn't think he had that kind of speed, but good for him. This kid is going to dominate when he's a senior (and a junior for that matter).

Whoops, he doesn't. . .that should be O'Connell :)
How about the girls? TyLynn has jumped 36'3.5" (good enough for thirds in the guys in some meets. . .), three girls already under 12 in the two mile, Boothe from Franklin at 2:24.4 in the 800, and perennial state top-three finishers in Shanika and Holly (12.4s for the both of them, 25.3/25.7, 60.8/61.1).
Our league is stacked.

That is true. Back over here in CT I sometimes go and look at the Boston Globe. I went a couple days ago to see what the sprots section had ( I miss that alot) and I saw they had the best times in track listed for each event and then a state-wide list. I was proud to see so many hock names in the top in the state and the ones who weren't all have solid times going on right now. Too bad I can't run with you peeps :(

I was gunna say something, but didn't want to discredit collins if he actually ran that.
800: Darcy (SH) 2:02.1
Nice job Darcy, I guess that makes you #1 in the league in the 800 as well as the mile. What's it gunna be for hocks?
