eastern time, not british time

where can we get live updates

I hear that London is 5 hours ahead of eastern time and 8 ahead of Western, I'm not sure though. Which means the races start in a few hours, there is a live webcast on some bbc site I think and on paularadcliffe.com, check on letsrun.com though!

Agh! I am unable to use a computer during the race so I can't get live updates!

My predictions
1. Paula Radcliffe - 2:17
2. Susan Chepkemei - 2:20 atleast
Mens
1. Paul Tergat 2:04-2:05
2. Evans Rutto 2:04-2:05

I'm curious to see what will happen

TERGAT VS RUTTO!
S*HIT this is intense! I can't believe this matchup, Rutto is undefeated but that doesn't explain it all. First race Tergat was not in Chicago because he went to Berlin for the WR. Second race didn't have Tergat because he didn't run in London. Third race in Chicago didn't have Tergat because he ran in Athens. So no offense to Rutto but his 3 marathon undefeated record only shows part of the story because he has yet to race Paul Tergat who ran a world record and in the Olympics and destroyed everybody at Lisbon. I can't believe Geb isn't gonna be there, ouch! Meb isn't there either or Khannouchi or Abera! I'm upset! U scared yet? I am! :)

im definitely surprised at Tergat, Korir, and Rutto. i thought they were in for monster races. Congrats to Lel.

Whoa! Insane results!

Womens race was as I predicted, 2:17 win for Paula. But I predicted Chepkemei 2nd.

Paula stopped on the side of the road(not in a toilet) to squat, in public view, embarrasing probably eh? But she dominated the field! Did you notice that the pacemakers were dropped by six miles? That's insane! If she had male pacemakers and no stomach problems she'd have run another 2:15, insane! She dominated everybody, destroyed them!~ Great comeback eh?

Mens race was shockingly bad! Didn't meet the great expectations I had for it. Tergat, Rutto, and Korir had off days for some reason and the time was slow. Was everybody just out of shape or was it tactical like in 2003? Please give me info. This is shocking, great win for Martin Lel!

My first words when looking at the letsrun.com front page results this morning:
Dragonsoul: "Martin Lel?! What the he||?!"

The marathoner is interesting and anything can happen. Paul Tergat, Evans Rutto, and Sammy Korir had off days and Haile Gebrselassie, Gezhanene Abera, Khalid Khannouchi, and Mebrahtom Keflezighi pulled out! Ouch! So much was expected of this race, it originally had the best field EVER assembled for a marathon and ended up to have a very subpar finish result than expected(Meb, KK, Geb, Abera pull out and Rutto, Tergat, Korir have off days). Anyways Martin Lel had a great win but who else is just totally shocked by this change of events for the Mens race?

Paula Radcliffe ran superb! What will her next races be you think? I wonder what her style will be in Helsinki where I believe she will double. I wonder if she'll run a 5k/10k on the track.

:rolleyes::eek:!!!

did geb run? i know he was supposed to and i thought he'd be up there if he did

Dragonsoul

No, unfornutately Haile Gebrselassie, Mebrahtom Keflezighi, Khalid Khannouchi, and Gezaghene Abera all pulled out before! And Paul Tergat, Evans Rutto, and Sammy Korir ran poorly! Just a few weeks ago the line up was the best ever then 1/3 of the top guys leave then 1/3 of the guys run very slow and the slowest 1/3 ends up winning, interesting turn of events eh? By the way the Moroccan world champion, I forget his name, ran pretty well, he was underestimated. What happened in this race exactly? Were the pacemakers bad or weather bad or the race tactical? I read Rutto put in surges. I wonder if there will be a better race in Boston! Those guys will be back though, everybody has off days. Martin Lel ran an impressive win!

Hey, this is a pic of me, I was in the race...

ah i was looking forward to hearing about geb's performance...i think he'll be just as good in the marathon as he was on the track if his achilles problems ever go away..hope tergat starts running well again - that's two marathons that i thought he'd win that he didn't do too well in

Dragonsoul
04-19-2005, 01:20 AM
Yea I thought that Tergat would win Athens/London but had some problem each time. I believe that his 59:10 half marathon in Lisbon this year was indicative that he probably wouldn't be at his best for the marathon in London. According to Renato Canova(coach of Saif Saaeed Shaheen, and tons of Kenyans, who posts on letsrun.com forums), an experienced half marathoner/marathoner should not be in top half marathon shape so soon before a marathon. The training for the half marathon is not the same, there was too much early speed. Anyways I wonder what's next for Tergat, maybe Helsinki or Chicago or Berlin. Those are the only marathons I believe he'd do next. I wonder what is next for Evans Rutto and Sammy Korir though?

Geb is injured. I wonder what his plans are. He might run some USA road race, I forgot the name of it but it's in the summer and it's kinda long, I have the name Bix 7 in my head, research

What do you guys think of Paddington Bear? Check the link I posted!!!
