I'm talking how long do you have to rest between? I was thinking about this because of that mile/2mile thread.

We have about 20 min. between 1600 and 800, about 8 minutes between 800 and 3200 (about 30 minutes between 1600 and 3200), and then about 3 minutes between 3200 and 4x400. That would be one hell of a quadruple.

i get about an hour or so of rest with a mile 4x4, but in our league the most someone can do is one race > 400m and two races total. most people who double just end up doing a distance + 4x4. Although the 2mile and the 4x4 are back to back most distance races gives you a decent amount of rest.

In Illinois for a big co-ed meet there's usually around 2-3 hours in between the 2mile/mile, and about 30min in between the 800/mile.

the worst double is the 400m-800m because there is only the 300m hurdles inbetween them so in a dual meet they have maybe 10 minute rest a slow invite might take 25min at the very longest

for an average dual meet:
1600 - about 60 minutes to 800. then about 45 - 55 to the 3200. then 5 to 10 minutes till the 4x4.

New rules now say that an athlete may run up to four races a meet. I thought it wouldnt really change anything since every meet I run the 3000, Dmed 800, and 1500. But now my coach is making me run the 3000, dmed 800, open 800, and 1500. This sucks because there is very little time to even cool down/streatch before you have to go run again. Let alone my legs are shot after running the 3000. So I definately know how all ya all feel.

is the dmed the distance medly relay?

In our last meet I ran the mile in 4:25 had a little over an hour of rest, then did a 2:00 800, then got about the same rest and then ran the 3200 in 9:53. It was not the time in between that killed me, but the number of races. It really sucked. I would not suggest trying all three distance races in the same meet. I know I won't do it again.

My friend his freshman year had to do an odd 800-3200 double, he never ran a good 3200 when he did that. I think it's just 200 in between.

I have 5 minutes after the 1600 to the 4x400... when I did the 800 and 1600 at district 2 years ago, I had 30 minutes after the 800... it sucked

Yeah rhxcrunner dmed is the distance medley relay. Its a 200-200-400-800. I run the 800 leg and not to brag or anything I DOMINATE!

We have something we like to call an 'ironman'. Its a 4x800, 1600, 800, then 3200. Its one of the hardest quadruples to do. Especially because the 800 and 3200 are back to back.

i thought the distance medly relay was a 1200-400-800-1600
and the sprint medly relay was 400-200-200-800

not to be rude or anything, but if you're gonna dominate something, you'd think you'd be able to at least know what it is you're dominating. where did you get the idea that the distance medley relay is a 200 200 400 800?

i quadruple almost every dual meet we have a little longer time between races but i still manage averaging 4:40, 2:05, 10:40 and a 54-55 i actually like racing a lot cuz i start to psych myself out and try and go crazy and sh!t, works pretty well tho

in nebraska it's pretty nice, i always have at least an hour after the 3200 before the 1600.

i had a dual last week in which i had about 15 minutes between the 4x8 and the 16, maybe another 15 minutes between the 16 and the 8. then normally id have 7 minutes tops between the 8 and the 32, but my coach put everyone who wasnt running the 32 in the 200 (even the throwers) so i had about a half hour

I run that quadruple at like evry meet and yeah, it does suck. Good way to race into shape though.

Dartman- Not to be rude or anything but I am a highschool girl and our distance medley relay is a 200 200 400 800. I understand how you could have confused the two

Well, we were laughing at a "DMR" results from some state indoor meet, I don't remember where it was from, but it was pretty much a SMR. Maybe he is from there, too.

i lucked out with my double today. had over 3 hours between the distance and sprint medleys, so i was able to run a 4:25 and pull off 1:59.7 later. usually my doubles are terrible, but i pr'd twice

In MN we can only run two distance event
I usually do the 1600/3200 or 4x800/3200, sometimes a 4x400 gets thrown in.

In dual meets we probably have about 20 minutes between the 1600 and 800 and 10 minutes between the 800 and 3200. Sometimes the boys and girls run at different sites, so the time in between is halved. A few weeks ago I ran an 800-3200 double with about 4 minutes in between. I ran a 10:5x (didn't even bother to get my time) after a 2:07; I ran 10:00 indoor almost 3 months ago. Worst eleven or so minutes of my life.
