I'm heading up to Laconia alongside Lake Winnepesaukee, and I was wondering if anyone knew of good running trails or places to run around the Lakes Region. Thanks.

theres a place called ahern park in laconia that has good trails and goes by a beach. its off of rt 106 by the county jail.
In that area I would recommend driving to the Gilford High school. Once there you can run across the street to the elementary school, and run on the Black Mountain trails (really really hilly!), those trails are located directly behind the elementary school. Near the playground at the elementary school you could also run on some trails made by eagle scouts a few years ago, I think Gilford’s XC course is on those trails. Both of these trail systems have signs at their entrances, so at the elementary school you would have a hard time missing them.
Also from the elementary school if you run towards the main road (route 11B I think or 11A?)and take a right at the end of the road at the general store. near the Gilford Fire station you should see a large brown wooden sign for Weeks woods. Those trails are also very nice, they’re nicer then the other two trail systems at the elementary school
The high school isn’t too far away from the resort areas of Laconia. If you don’t know where the Gilford high school is, I can tell you how to get there

Spent the last week in the White Mountains. If you are in that region look at Kevin Tilton's review of places to run in the White Mountains. The Wilderness Trail was really fun to run on. We also ran up Mt Carrigan. It was pretty steep. I would not do it again. Very dangerous coming down.
