hey for those of you going to the meet at greenwich on monday, i tihnk it would be a good opportunity to try and get a fast 800 together. no tactics for place or anything, just get out there and run a blazing time. with wyper, moffat,tj,josh kearns, doying, myself and others i think we could get a good amount under 2:03? is that a solid place. i dont know, lemme know if yall even want to do this.

isn't your track in yards though? So would it be an 880?

cowboyjeff05
04-09-2005, 07:45 PM
i've never seen a track in yards b4, it must be pretty big (100m==110yds so the track is an extra 120ft)

but it dont make a differnce 800m and 880 yards, are all the same!!

hi guys, just wanted to check in and say i missed dyestat and your fabulous thread

Josh barbara
04-09-2005, 08:05 PM
its yards yea. but the lines they put on the track are to compensate for that so everything is still in meters in the end. sometimes they run things in yards though, most the 1600 so that its a full mile. i thikn its only 3 meters long per lap. something like that. so for something like the 1600 would be 12 meters off a mile i think. so yea, as far as i know the track is in yards but the races are in meters. i think that could be good for it takes a little out of the turns. probably very slightly though

welcome back everyone and i would just like to congrat Wilton on the amazing rap battle they put up against us at our meet on Thursday.. it was a good time and if we had had the microphone it would have made it much better...

for all those who dont know what im talking about.. Danbury and Wilton had a beat boxing battle in the middle of the DHS football field... it included rapping, amazing beat boxing by both teams, a little jamacian rapping and a **** load of fun.. im pretty sure the outcome was a tie since both teams brought up some pretty good sh*t

Trinity's a good meet. Last year there was a good 1600 between Haji and Mitchell as well as two guys under 50 in the 400. In my opinion, probably the top meet in CT in the month of April

mike moore is a social outcast, in high school he had no friends, and the same in college, the reason he makes these documentries is to fill the gap in his life og having no friends, by making other ppl be looked down upon by sociecty i.e. Bush, colombine, and others

Why doesnt he become a real directer and make real movies instead of going around and taking away respect from good people

plus he should lose some mad weight that fat f*ck

Wyper: 10:32 2-mile, wright 10:35

Peter Prial ran 22.6 200 (school record)
Wyper: 4:38/9 in the mile, won by a lot

Some Darien kid won the 8 (dunno his name) by outkicking barbara

doying? i assume, what was the time? Did any ridge kids run the 8? This is slattery by the way, I wish I was high up enough in the FCIAC track society to be adressed by just my first name and everybody would know who i am, like Remi, for example, but alas, I am not even the best James in the conference, or the division for that matter, so I will have to deal with it. I was thinking about making my username James Slattery and following the likes of Josh Barbara and Kevin Petersen but I decided that would be a) unoriginal and b) give away too much information if I wanted to keep my idenitity hidden. I then thought it would be sweet if I made my username King James but that sounds too arrogant and if there was a King James of the FCIAC, I would have to admit, reluctantly, that it would be Wyper and not myself. I dont really post that much but we are on vacation and I am kind of bored so I am going to make this post a long one. We dont have our next meet until the 25th and its against ****ty teams when is everyone elses next meet? Also, where are all the seniors going to school next year, im going to Boston College, and I think Jarboe from wilton is going there also, or at least thats what he told me when I saw him a few months ago. I probably wont post for a while now cus I said a **** load in this post. The new dyestat sucks my balls by the way I checked it a few days ago and saw this **** and I was pissed and still am but now im going to go eat a sandwich, preferably roast beef, but I dont know if we have any here, if not i might settle for turkey if thats in the fridge or maybe grilled cheese if things get desperate, not knocking grilled cheese or anything, its pretty good, its just not a quality first choice meal, u know? Im bored by the way so now im gonna go.

Josh barbara
04-12-2005, 06:42 PM
lol i hope that post was enjoyable for you james, i was able to subside my bordem for atleast a minute with your wonderful post. as for the 800 at greenwich...yea it was doying that beat me. we took out the first lap in about a 63 i lead for the first 300 and then moffat took over with me 2nd and doying a couple meters back in 3rd. we held that until about 150 to go. at that point i passed moffat off the curve and thought i had it made but sure enough doying comes flyin out of the back like a freakin animal running the 100 meter dash and took it with about 40m to go. he simply had a disgusting kick lol. doying crossed with what my coach said was a 2:05.2, me in a 2:05.7 and moffat with a 2:06.xx. It would have been nice to be a bystander for that race, i'm sure it was mad exciting. anyways good job boys.

Yea they were undecided about running the mile and getting back for class in time. Then when they found out that there were 2 heats of the girl's mile, they just left. About that, i don't understand why they had 2 heats of the girls mile and 1 of the guys. We actaully had close to, if not more than 25 kids in the mile heat.

woot woot holla, they finally let me back on the boards, steveu didnt wanna let me back and i basically wrote him a thesis paper on how i needed to be back on the stat. anyway, right to buisness. danbury+wilton+rap battles=pretenders who clearly wish they were part of the ridge-stap-dar connection, and obviously missed the weinz/douglas k battle back in xc

is everyone ready for the slow heat at darien-danbury-staples meet? just over a week away...

idk dalto... ask anyone from wilton if yu dont believe us danbury guys.. it was "off the hook" and im not sure even the famous Douglas K. Wright could match that but if yu have these things you might have had the better rap battle

1)did you have beat boxing along with rapping?
2)did you have break dancing and a kick bustin his ass on a soccer goal?
3)and last but not least, did you have a F-ing Jamacian doing some jamacian rap that i would guess no one have any idea of what he was saying

im pretty sure Douggie Fresh and weinz could drop some wicked ill beats but im not sure if that could match what happened at our meet a couple weeks ago

Just got back from Rockville, the 2 x 1 mile OTR was a joke, Kaiser and I wound up being our "A" team, and we both split mad slow, Kaiser was 5:40 and then I decided just to pick up some ground, having no one to run with. I got into XC 5k pace, (I ran slow, like 5:30), and didn't realize that I was running a mile until it was way too late. Basically, I ran 4 seconds faster than my Trumbull XC pace at that meet against Ridge, only for a mile.
Anyway, Remi won the open 400 in :43.49 I believe, and our 4 x 800 won (Hank - 2:05.x, Dane - 2:03.5, Brendan - 2:09.7, Keaton - 2:01.7), so I think they just missed the meet record. Our 4x4 was third. Hopefully Trinity will be better.

Does anyone else think it is inappropriate to run in JV and varsity races in the same meet? I mean if you are good enough to run the varsity 3200 or the varsity steeple, why can't you run the VARSITY 1600m or 4x400m?

Don't give me any of that "I'm only a freshman (sophomore)" crap. JV races should be reserved for 9th and 10th graders who are not of a varsity caliber.

i completly agree... you either varisty or jv, not both, so if you have the choice of being varsity or jv, choos one and stick with it, dont pick differnt ones... you dont see varsity teams copeting agasint jv teams in anyother sport...

Fairfield country - mostly the larger schools though. FC is broken up into two divisions - the FCIAC, and the SWC. The FCIAC is tough as nails, and has some huge schools in it including Staples, Danbury, Ridgefield, Fairfield, Bridgeport, etc; while the SWC has smaller schools such as Weston, Masuk, Barlow, Pomperaug, New Milford, etc.

there was one my freshman year (your 8th grade year) because of a week of rain delays we were forced to have a co-ed FCIAC meet at wilton..i ran the 4x800 and 4x400, i had literaly 7hours inbetween races... as a sidenote, it was really cool to run under the lights at wilton

Fciacs is not co-ed. The girls run the day before the guys do.. its been this way every year. We had a co-ed meet just last week at greenwich.. it was by far one the longest and worst meets ever. It wouldn't be a problem to run boys and girls together if the coachs were more organized, and actually ran the meet. Take for example at the last meet there was i think 3 heats of the girls mile... thats crazy.

While Remi may very well be the best athlete in the FCIAC, he can't score that many points. In fact, I was thinking about his state events the other day. What makes most sense is to use him 4x8, 400 and 4x4. Winning all three (a stretch, but nonetheless possible) only yields 15 effective points, no matter how Coach Lawrence does the points up at Staples. While he is a great athlete, he is not a true point monster like our friend at NFA, b/c his event specialties don't allow for individual tripling.

800, 400, 110H, or even 300H not a guaranteed win in the 400 cuz of other good athletes but i dont think remi would finish worse than second in any of those 4 events

cowboyjeff05

BeamonStreet

well if hes on a relay hes still part of the points that they score

Yeah, but divide the points by four. I know that the Staples guys have said that Coach Lawrence doesn't figure points that way, and I think that's wrong. If Staples wins a relay, and they score 10 points, Remi is only worth 2.5. Of course, I think the CIAC should change that. Relays should be worth double.

The track abosrbs the shock on ur feet so well, much better than the Armory and Reggie Lewis. And by the way, BU should be renamed Biddie University. Also, when I was doing 8x200's, there was a girls high school soccer clinic in the middle of the track, so I was forced to split fast. Basically it was pretty awesome, thought i'd let you all know.

Not by her, but her parents. Giel's plan of attack is clearly to become best friends with her parents, hoping that her parents will arrange the marriage that she doesn't want. :)

Newtown. We beat them anyways, but he scored first in 3 of the 4 events he was in, and made up serious ground on our 4x100 on the last stretch. I think hes going to score serious points at SWC's, his class meet, and possibly even opens.

I can speak from experience that playing premier soccer in addition to track takes a lot out of your legs comes the track postseason. The level of games and the amount on the field which will be asked of him is going to be a lot and I would be very impressed to see him peak at that point in the season. For example, Class L states is the Tuesday after Memorial Day and I can guarantee that he will be playing in 5 games against elite competition the 3 preceding days.

he should only be doing one sport anyway, i thought if you played a high school sport you cant do rec or another sport, because if you get injured, that hurts the team you should be paying attention to most

True - i sort of quit soccer for that reason. I can only handle one year-round commitment, and for me, track was more important. Two sports contributes to alot of injuries, especially ACL tears and pulls.

I hear ya, although its probably bad for my track I take off once or twice a week because of soccer practice. In the long run, next year I won't be running anymore and soccer is more important. This is the way most athletes feel who are in the sport as a conditioning thing, i.e. Bloomfield Sprinters of old and current Hyde runners

But if he tore his acl doing soccer, at least he can say that he got hurt playing his beloved sport.....just my opinion

He clearly wants the all-state triple
Fall - Soccer (All-American, All-New England, All-State, Gatorade CT POY)
Winter - Basketball (Class LL All-State)

He wants to make the trifecta

I think there are 3 guys out there that may have something to say about that. Remi Ray, Rob Stewart and Steven Rochester. I'm pretty sure they won't allow that.

Yeah, the three bright spots of what was the worst Staples-Danbury dual meet in at least two decades. In fact I don't think I saw Stewart's name, did I? What the hell happened? Did you guys run on cinder? Run in a hurricane? Run backwards?

You need to:
A.) SHUT THE HELL UP!
B.) ****ing take it easy.
C.) Stay in your own goddamn league.
D.) Don't be an *******.

Stewart pulled his hamstring in the first 100 meters of the 400. He was key to the staples 4x1 win over danbury. And so you all know, there was a scoring error, Danbury beat Staples by 13, not 23.

yeah really dude, i dunno the oficial time but we had remi at 49.8 and the last 100 was into a very harsh head wind, it was blowin all day, so that was in fact impressive, and the meet was good to watch, and the races were neck and neck so u can go molest some more young children and get off the FCIAC page cuz no1 likes u
