Alrite, im 16 from England and im running 50.88 at the moment for the 400m

How would that time do in the US?

In high school? You could probably qualify for the State Championships in most states.

State Qualification in NH is around 53.

Winning time in NH Meet of Champions was 49.30

winning time in Texas was 46.6....just sayin, but that is real good for a 16 yearold

Thats not quite state qualifying in Illinois. To win in Illinois you need to run about 47. , and to qualify for state finals you need to run mid-high 48s.

I'm 17 and my PRs about 50.4, so I'd say you're doing pretty well for yourself.

50.55 when I was 16, I just turned 17 in July

mmm 3a state here in mo had a high 49 win it and 48 flat won 4a(missouris highest class). Missouri has a crap load of good 100m and 200m runners... 10.5 won 4a and 21.2 for 200m. I missed sectionals cuz I pulled my hip flexor. PRed evertime i ran so prolly 52 for me at sectionals if I wouldve went. and 50.88 is really good for a 16 year old, keep it up. What do you run your other races in?
