Does anyone get this? The feeling that it becomes really really awkward and hard to move your legs and you become totally inefficient like your muscles/legs just don't work they're completely rusty and you have to like jog for a couple minutes to shake out the stiffness.

Oddly enough, I mainly just get this when I think about it. I always get it at a certain point toward the end of a run I do especially it's wierd. But is there some physiological explanation to this? Not enough glucose maybe?

Say the pledge of allegiance a few times and the awkward stiffness should go down a bit.

you are probably maxing out your distance and thus your body's ability to process lactic acid and so it is building up and that is why you get the feeling. As you increase your long run distance, that feeling will gradually stay away longer and longer into the run. So if your long runs are 12 miles now and you are feeling it at 10 or 11, if you keep training and extend your long run to 14 or 15 miles you wouldnt feel it til 12 or 13.
Basically you body is just working hard and trying to get rid of lactic acid while being pretty tired.

Its not as noticable as you would think. So don't be nervous! These things will pass.
