Not much talk about Mike Alleman's great performance tonight.

His 66-0 1/4 not only broke Group 3 record, but it also broke the Union County mark.

Congrats to Mike.

Vena was second with a 63-8 1/4

Very cool for the upper classman to be banging with the kid like this. Great win and record, good fro him.

Every throw that was legal was 63' or better. One foul, the rest very, very consistently excellent.

He was 4 hours late for his prom but he wasn't in a huge rush to get away to it; had to feel good to set that record and get the state championship with such tough competition.

I was at prom when Mike got there. I asked him how he threw, and he was quite excited to tell me that he won, and broke 66. Then, being the kid that he is, he just went and enjoyed himself. He's a great person, as well as a great athlete.

And he was only two hours late. There would have been pretty much nothing left going on if he were four hours late, haha.
