I had this hip injury (strained glute) throughout track, and burn't out for the 2nd half of my season. I had no energy and was running mile times 15 seconds off my pr and 2 mile times 30 seconds off. I have taken off 10 days so far, and I can still feel the hip problem.
How long should I take off before I start to run slow distance? My hip only hurts bad after a hard workout or sprint. Will the injury go away with slow distance? And how long does it take to recover after a burnout?

I had a similar hip problem, and I took 8 days off, with ibuprofen and icing and it so far has seemed to do the trick. I would suggest taking like 4 or 5 more days off, and then try a really easyyy 4 miler or something. If it feels fine, slowly start working back into full swing. Its really important to take your time coming back
