as a hurdler ive been told that id be betts off to use a middle distance spike coz of the heel and that whole landing thing, but would the maxcats be okay for straight hurdles? or would i be better off sticking with middle distance spikes? thanks

Considering your heel should never hit the ground when you hurdle, getting mid-distance shoes would be a big waste.

i dont understand where ur heel comes in hurdling... the hurdle is a sprint... when does your heel hit when ur sprinting? you should always be up on your toes... always....
on that note:
i use the nike Shift Fly II's for the 110HH and i used the MaxCats for the 400IH

Stay on the balls of your feet; not your toes. ;)

haha thanks for that... (not toes) - im bad with my technique.. i know.
thing is i'd have to buy spikes over the net, coz we have crappy spikes here in australia - everyone has the same ones!! so i just wanna make sure that i'm buying a good pair... so yay or nay for maxcats?

maxcats are great spikes for like 400, 400h, 800 in my opinion, for the 110HH i think you would want something more agressive, G5's look great, shift fly II's are discontinued but they still have a few on eastbay, etc. theres alot out there... just look for an agressive 100-200m spike

MONSTER FLYS!!!! Ive never worn a more balanced track shoe.. Jared Huske used them and Ive heard him say they helped him tremendousely. Just the right grip/weight. Very good shoe
