Like I've been trying to set up on the other regional boards, here's a thread dedicated to the MW teams looking to be among the best in the region this fall.

Qualifications to be listed:
4+ returners UNDER -
Track cut-offs: 4:22.00 1500m, 4:41.00 1600m, 4:43.0y, 9:40.00 3k, 10:23.00 3200m, 10:26.5y.

XC Cut-offs: 16:30 IL State XC, 17:05 MI State XC, 17:25 OH State XC, 17:30 NTN-MW, 17:50 IN State XC, 18:10 MO State XC/17:55 NTN-HL

For teams that don't have a fifth under, please include the next best runner to fill out the top 5. (I'm assuming this list of teams will be ~40-45, and the top few teams probably ~8-15 guys)

would a detweiller time count that wasn't state xc? if so i can give you stats on DGN (from where i graduated, though they arent a legitimate contender)

Ben Silver (SO) 14:56 (Peoria Notre Dame on Detweiller), 9:32, 4:30
Dan Phistry (SR) 15:43 (Peoria Notre Dame, then injured), 9:57
Dan Smith (SR) 4:40
Brian Llamas (SO, no XC experience) 10:19, 4:43
Joe Malik (SR) has no track times and didn't run at state, but ran 15:35 at a comparable course last year, so he can fill out top 5

Others that would be close to the times but not quite (in case you wont use malik) would be Andrew Montague (JR) 4:48 and Andrew Stawarz (JR) 10:26

Naperville (Neuqua Valley)

Danny Pawola SR 14:33, 4:23, 9:13
Aaron Beattie JR 14:44, 4:25, 9:24
Bryan Winek SR 14:59*, 4:36, 9:33
Brian Morenus SR 9:42
Luke Verbus JR 15:38*
Jordan Lagomarcino JR 16:03*, 10:03
David Wing JR 15:58*, 10:08

Asterisks indicate a result from the Conference XC meet at Lake Park, which runs very similarly to Detweiller (full 3 miles, flat course, etc.). Last year Derrick ran 13:57 (-6 seconds from state meet), Pawola ran 14:36 (-3 sec), and I ran 14:37 (+7 sec). The times fluctuate a little bit but on average I would say they run pretty much the same.

Sorry, no XC marks accepted outside of those mentioned, even the Peoria invites, because I'm trying to keep it an "even playing ground" ... if you accept the best from 6 races from one area, but only 1-3 from another, that creates an unfair advantage. By only looking at the final 3 races of the season (for those that make it), you have a level playing field (except for rewarding the teams that showed well in the post season, which should be a factor in the end anyways)

Thanks guys, I'll add them in in a minute

Although you probably can't include him in any of your projections Robert James has a really good shot at being NV's #5. He ran 15:38 at conference last year (as stated a course very similar to Detweiller) and he only ran 3 days the entire summer  . He ran 1:57 in track off of no winter base and is now training everyday. He will be a senior and is mega-talented. First time I saw him run he was a freshman who had only done training for the 400/800 and he ran 4:46 in the 1600 leading the whole way, he has just never been willing to put in the training before now.

Wow that's impressive, if only he had been training this whole time where would he be now?!

A little bird on my shoulder mentioned him, along with a few other guys who should be in serious contention for a varsity spot on your former team: Andrew Tout, So.; Harsha Torke, So.; Luke Verbus, Jr.; Alistair Duncan, Sr; Connor Shields, Sr.

Looks like they'll be in good shape even after your legacy is gone. Should be a GREAT 3-way race for the state title this year

Based on Logarun website - looks like NV (most of team logging) and NN (only one logger but assume reflects coaches schedule) top runners are training fairly similar and approaching 60-70 miles per week range already.

If they avoid injuries could be a great three way (sure York is logging similar miles) race.

for those that dont know, NV has their own website that they keep updated for the team and it includes the total miles for each guy.

Right now the mileage chart is from last year, but coach vandersteen must not have put the new one up yet.

This is true, but I think he was asking about whether Wisconsin teams are allowed to go at all by their association, which is no. But still post your teams anyway for comparison's sake.

Of course, but I was directing him to where other Wisconsin posters are, where they will be able to give more information than "No, they haven't been able to in the past, and probably won't this year as far as any outsiders know"
