Which leg is your lead leg while hurdling?

Just a little poll, I notice a lot of top hurdlers are right leg, Trammell, Doucoure, i believe Allen Johnson, i think Xiang Liu is left leg though, i don't know.

Most intermediate hurdlers primarily use their left lead leg.

i voted left as that is my preferance, however coach believes that i am better with the right, but i would rather say that i am a dual leg hurdler (right and left).

I just watched the 110m finals from Helsinki, and only Xiang Liu was left legged.

I'm a natural right-leg lead, (just how I started off doing them), but I learned to do left as well because that is better for the 400IH (think about the turns...). I voted right because of nature, but I'm ambidexterous (as far as hurdle lead legs go) by training.

when i first started hurdles my left leg just came natural. i learned to use the right later in hurdles. what ever leg comes natural. one way is you can have someone push you and whatever leg you step out with to catch yourself might be your lead leg. i've tried it.

I feel more comfortable with the right lead leg, but I can use both well. It's better for 300h and 400h if you're able to alternate lead legs over each hurdle, so that you don't lose much strength in one leg through the race.

i only saw 1 intermediate hurdler at state this year that led with his right. its best to ues your left. but for the 110's it doesnt matter. what ever feels better.

Yeah, very interesting because most elite level hurdlers, save for Xiang, are right leg ahead.

naturally lead with the left but due to lack of height (the 100m high for girls is about the same length as my leg) i must switch legs
