Will you be getting to any Jersey meets?

I believe I will be at:

Manhattan, yes I know, not a NJ meet. Could be clash of the titans early with Shen, DB?, MH, CBA, WW, maybe Haddonfield? Possibly In same race?

Morris County meet, hard to miss any year for me.

Possibly Groups, most likely MOC. And Lincroft Inn after!!:D

From the girls story: "The Star-Ledger's 2007 Coach of the Year, Dave Ytreboe, will have his girls focused on another November run of success"

The NEW girls coach at TRN is Noel Whitall Brock, a helluva runner herself.

I ran with Kristen a bit during the summer as well as with her coach and I've got to say she's one of the toughest runners I've seen.....If only she went to Wayne Hills though....but still she will be a runner to look out for

Well since she has only trained (with her mother) 3 days a week with minimal distance I have to think under a fairly competent HS program she should improve
PS her sister Jade Wilson had a very good year at neptune last year 14.9x 100h 63.15 400h

Agreed she is going to be very very good I would not be surprised to see her break 19:00 at Garret

PS Thanks for sending evan over to P.C. we appreceiate it:D

You may not see her until Indoor. Plans were to start her off slowly. BTW, she was mentored by Keith Davis, father of Andre (Old Bridge) and an excellent age-group coach.

an excellent mentor to have Keith still competes in masters track and Field I believe His son was one of the best agegroup multis in the nation perhaps a future decathelete

Traub is good, no doubt she will be one of the top freshman in the state. ANother one to watch is Cayla Delpiano from South Brunswick. She ran in the low 20's last year while training maybe 10 miles a week. I figure she is good for low 19s with the increased mileage and speed work. She should vastly improve the South brunswick girls who return their top 4 runners from last year. She should slide right in to #2 on the team, which is a big reduction in team time when you can substitute your #5 runner with a #2 runner.

Hi Ho!!.....................:D

new hope's a cool little town ... awesome bookstore (farley's), some great restaurants (logan, landing, mother's, triumph, etc.), you've got the train ride through upper bucks county, good bars (havana, jon & peter's), canal trail going right through town for your long runs ... walk over the bridge to lamboville ... and some tremendous mexican food at el taco loco ... and the historic new hope playhouse, where high jump guru mike pascuzzo has performed ... but yeah, you can definitely buy some antiques and candles and yarn and crap too!

Naaa - I changed my mind - your commute is no laughing matter. I have some great CD's for you on the bus - Yanni, Kenny G, Spandau Ballet, Paul Stookey, Chad & Jeremy, Wham.....

Hey - you must come make the trip down on Sept 27 (with your better half) - I'm selling tickets based on your being in the house !! You don't mind giving a little speech do you ?

Trivia question: How tall is Kenny G ?

king99
09-10-2008, 03:28 PM
Kenny G or Homey G or Ali G?

I have no idea.

You should let me know guest list ahead of time so I will know who not to trash , former runner wise and coaching wise!! hahahaha

Those CD's should stay exactly where they are:

RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR YARN and CANDLES!!!!

The commute is okay only I literally NOW go to bed by 9:30 at latest most nights, a joy for those who used to talk to me after too many Heinekens and after 10:30PM , hahaha.

Hope you all are welll, it will just make for more laughs when I see you, saw my first whittling exhibition last night by my father in law, a great guy.

Oh my, politics are looking exciting, that and THE PENN STATE Football Story weekly!!

Yeah...wow.....I guess that's why he is always standing by himself on stage so he doesn't look so short. The long hair makes him look a little taller ! Not a big fan of his music anyway.

I haven't been there in years. We used to go all the time back in the late 80s and early 90s but then it got ridiculously crowded and the shops started carrying real crap. Good to hear that is has made a bit of a comeback.

Lambertville is a good place too despite the name.

That is it? There used to be a weekly preview and write up of the upcoming weekend etc.

Like this weekend is kind of huge:

Shen faces off against Mo Hills CBA, Colts Neck is at that , and Red Bank Cath. I think as well?

Kind of a lot to talk about there? Other stuff?

I share your feelings, but there is nothing I can really do.

The paper has made drastic changes due to financial problems. The paper is shrinking to save money and weekly notebooks for all sports have been eliminated.

The possibility of the paper being sold or even closing have been mentioned. The newspaper business is in big trouble. There are no guarantees for the future.

Sorry that things are the way they are. No one is more frustrated than I am. I live for x-c and my weekly notebook was my favorite thing to do. It was the pipeline to the x-c fans, runners and coaches, a chance to write about anything I wanted.

There will still be rankings on Friday's and the usual event coverage, but the Friday notebook is no more.

I'll talk to you guys more about this stuff when I see you at a meet. I don't have the space on here to get into all the specifics of the changes.

Sorry to ruin your Friday's, King.

Jim , you ruined nothing, I lived for the weekly. Loved it.

Perhaps you could run a rogue column on here?

I could be the wild card guest of the week, with reports out of Harford Pa.:D :D

hahaha

Thanks
