How much slower do you think times would be if elites ran a race the opposite way for one race?

Just randomly do one race like this? Maybe instead of running 3:30 for 1500m they'd run 3:36 on their first try.
mexican massacre ya herd?

QFtheir legs would fall off...
on the real though...
It might actually just be a little bit slower. or not at all. Really wouldnt make a "significant" difference.

yeah just randomly one race..... i think times would slow down a few seconds in the mile at least. i think they'd feel uncomfortable and their legs might be minimally effected too.

Bet the 200 meters would look cool w/staggers on straight- away leading to a common finish at the end of the turn.
I could not imagine how an announcer could call the race since it is hard enough as is to get it right.
i think surprisingly a lot slower ... a couple of times i have ran 10miles(actually 16000meters) on a track ... i went the opposite way for the first 5 and the correct way for the second 5 and the second 5 averaged 10-15 seconds faster per mile, and i didnt feel like i was picking it up

i dunno.... when you're at an elite level and your legs have been worked so much it seems like those little differences in the legs would make it a little slower. it'd use a couple different little muscles on each leg i'm sure.

You heard wrong.
It doesn't matter if you're running clockwise or counterclockwise because the distance around the track is always 400 meters.

i think the 100m times would be about the same
same for the 110h
some people (like me) might to better in the 400h
others (not like me) might do significantly worse

You're wrong. Between the earth's rotational axis and gravitational pull, combined with the Theory of Relativity as well as angular momentum, it would be shorter.

I'm not sure you fully understand the concept of the Nobel Prize.
