Who do you have your money on? What are each of these teams strengths and weaknesses? Is Cummings strong enough to hold off Ryan? What does everyone think?

I'm a big Cummings fan and I'm glad to see her back so dont misconstrew this. I just think that Cummings has missed to much time and she is prob no where near peak condition nor will she be by Pens. I think its kinda unfair to expect her to compete against Ryan. She ran a 2:17 half last week, which is a very good start but its a long way from runnin a big 1600 in a relay in a couple of weeks. Best of luck to you Laura.

Cummings will only need to be in shape to run a 5:0X as Bayshore should be well ahead going into the 1600 legs.

If I were Coach Borbet I'd put MaryLiz McCurdy in the mile, Laura in the 1200, and Sarah McCurdy in the 800. Laura's 800 demonstrated she's still in shape to run pretty fast, but I know from experience that it's easier to come back from injury and throw down times comparable to what you were running before in a race like the 800 as opposed to the mile. Her natural talent and what she's gained back as of late should put Laura in the position to run a nice 1200 leg. MaryLiz is good for a low 4:50 mile and Sarah can probably run in the low to mid 3:40s in the 1200.

Warwick's 4 legs are all very strong and I think they will be able to run well in the 11:45 range.

Laura Cummings should probably run the 1200 leg! I'm sure Bay Shore could run the following times:
1200-Laura 3:37
400- ? 61
800- Sarah 2:15
1600-Mary Liz 4:52
Time: 11:45

I think that you might be right! If they would have switched up, they might have gotten those splits; however, that's after the fact. And that's part of the game - making the right call before hand! I'm sure they thought they would get faster splits with their (Bayshore) initial line-up. What are the classifications of Warwick Valley and Bayshore girls? Surprised to see Eleanor Roosevelt (Greenbelt, Md) in there. They're 1200 leg - soph, 400 leg - junior, 800 leg - soph, and 1600 leg - freshman. So, it will get interesting next year!!! It's still hard to mess with a DMR with a sub 4:50 mile leg.
P.S. I thought the girl (miler) from Vere Tech was going to be hard to beat! She folded pretty fast.

Mary Liz was very sick before the race and was only out of bed a few days before the meet. They figured that since she was sick, the best bet was to have her survive an 800m leg. It's tough to put it all together on the same day, which makes you really respect that 11:33 they ran last year....
