Teams who will be prominent are St. Johns Prep-Danvers, Methuen (class of the Merrimack Valley), North Andover (should win Cape Ann League going away). Masco will make some noise in Cape Ann but does not have the depth to overcome North Andover's 1-2 punch. Haverhill has Penney, but Methuen has depth to compliment Reddy. St. Johns is deep. Interestingly enough are the results of the Clipper Relays, where North Andover came out of nowhere. Hamilton-Wenham, perenniel powerhouse, does not have anywhere the depth they used to when Gabe Pacione ran for them.

Who did we miss?

SJP vs Xavarian at Franklin Park tomorrow I believe. Should be a good determining factor

As much as I love the X, SJP seems to have their number.

1st place was X in like 16:10, looked like Bleday
2nd Masse around 16:30
3rd X

then I think SJP took 4-6
there was a pretty good amount of guys between 16:40 and 17:00

Solid outing vs. X......I still think Masse can run 15 seconds faster in a 5K. Look for him to peak towards end of season. What helps SJP is they just overwhelm you with depth. They swarm like a bee hive. First to finish almost doesn't matter.

We cannot ignore that the 3 top runners in Merrimack Valley League thus fare are

1. Ethan Penney: Haverhill
2. Stephen Wahome: Lowell
3. Jared Reddy: Methuen

They are the as good as there is on North Shore. I think only 1 or 2 of the Cape Ann kids can compete with these three and they certainly would not beat Penney.
