Chris Johnson of Gov. Livingston and Rob Albano of Pequannock had a good duel for the top spot in Group 2 race with Johnson's big push up the finoish hill giving him the win in 15:46.4, top time of the day.

Johnson is off to a great start wityh three straight pr's to open season.

Albano finally breaks 16 and beats Schellberg in 15:59.8, but there is a chance he'll be penalized a second for looking back moe than 10 times in last half mile. Great Job, Rob.

Yes, the course is shorter this year with the construction being done. According to the meet director, Garret used to be 5,100 meters and now it's 5,000.

Big team result was Randolph boys beating Ridgewood in Group 4 with a tight pzack. Ridgewood has 3 in before Randolph's first, but Randolph had its sixth cross before Ridgewood's 4th. Randolph 78, ridgewood 96, livingston 108.

Randolph girls also rolled in group 4 with Joelle Amaral winning in 18:55.9 as randolph averaged 19:46. Molly Higgins was 2nd for randolph in 19:22.12 and natalie Anthony 4th in 19:42.1

Randolph has a very good team this year. They like to pack run a lot, it seems like. Man, I wish I wasn't four hours away at college - I definitely wish I could come watch more races. Nice run, Chris and Rob.

the trail that goes around the boat house at the end of the loop around the lake has been closed off. it's now just a straight run on concrete to link back up with the rest of the trail.

Never. So that means that Mo K's course record of 15:16 is a 14:58 5K.

Hmmm.

Crazy race today, felt so good to finally break 16 especially at somewhere legit, course was full of mud and puddles. Real Cross-Country.

Chris Johnson is a beast, he flew by me on that final hill like no other.

Some very nice results across all the races.

Something I noticed:
32 #1060 Constintine, Kayli 9 Kittatinny 7:25 23:00 29

The last name is spelled differently/incorrectly, but is there any relation to Christi? It's kind of odd that they'd both have names ending in I (not very common) if there's no connection.

Hmmm.

There has probably been some course creeping over the years at Garrett. The fact that they cut the small loop below the pond/lake has to be at least over 200 meters of lost distance. Not sure what they can do with the start and the finish adjustment to compensate for that much distance. Based on history, this year needs an asterik because it is not the same course, and settling on actual distance from here on should be something that PCCA owns and nobody else. Garrett is a great NJ course and we should treat it that way, I know we can use a GPS, but somebody should get a wheel and make sure what we have this year (and what we will have again, if the lower short loop is re-instated next year).

Was the meet well attended ? It looks like it from the Varsity results in the paper. That meet is usually has alot of participation.

I was told that the course was measured. Not sure by what method, but it is now a true 5000m.
