Throwing Goals

Well I decided to try and throw discus today, I will probably attempt shot and jav sometime soon for decathalon. I want to try disc again tho cuz I threw 94'11" from a stand and if I can get that up I should earn some good points in decathalon...cuz not everyone always can throw at those...edit*-goal is like 110'

well every other thrower can post their goals/prs here even tho I dont think their r many on dyestat...

I did the multi events and really need to work on my hurdles and high jump, my pr is 5'8" but I only cleared the opening height of 5' that day. My legs were so tired by the time we threw the discus I only threw 135' and that is my event. My pr is 162', I am a soph, my goal this year is 170'.

my goal in jav was to get over 146, and on my first throw this year i hit 158

but unfortuneatly jav fals right bet. the long jump and 400

yeah the it sucks that u can only do certain events because of where they are...my last meet i sat around during the first hour, then i did all my events in an expanse of like 20 minutes...
i threw the jav today for the first time in practice at like 105', so my goal for that is about 125' once i get the form down. I will throw shot in the decathalon so shot goal is 34'

Yes, I am a high school soph, but discus is my only real sport, I throw the 12 pound shot only 44' and in the summer for junior olympics I throw the jav and hammer. I like the hammer but can't throw it in CA high school meets, too dangerous. Thanks... I improved an inch this weekend to 162'5" but I really want 170'. by the way I have a sector in my front yard, it really helps to be able to throw everyday, and I do.

Tennessee. The 165' was the farthest mark in the state last year, but i scratched twice in the state qualifying meet and my last throw was a sector foul, so i missed the state meet. That was by far my worst meet last year. It was sickening to me because i had been throwing good all year. That shot put was ranked 4th in the state in my division and that was the throw that got me to state. I finished 6th at state and managed only a mediocre throw.

I was up in Eugene last summer at Nationals, were you there socold?

Hey, keep it big in Tennessee...Here in Cal I won't don't even get ranked until I add about 6 feet. I will be lucky to make it state, we have to win our section and right now there are two seniors throwing in the 160s with me, I beat them about half of the time, but i gotta do it on the section day of the meet or throw 170 something to auto qualify on that day. My shot sucks.. 44'10"

Going to any camps this summer? UCLA last summer, not great, coach was late flet like a rip off, need a throw camp this summer.

I only threw in some regional meets this past summer. I'm also a football guy, so I didn't have time to go to Nationals. One of my buddies that throws at a high school near mine threw up there last year though. He is a 57' shot-putter and 150' disc thrower.

I've never actually been to a throws camp. AAU's is about the extent of the instruction I get.
